Haven’t eaten there in 20 years. Never going back!

They check institutional food service too? Because I could point them to an expensive local live-in facility that could desperately use an inspection. I once called to report it, and was told “that’s different from restaurants, and there’s no such avenues for reporting institutional kitchens “

The county does inspect kitchens at rest homes such as Kindred facilities in Concord and Walnut Creek.

It’s those juvenile cockroaches you got to watch out for, little deliquents on hormonal binges.

Thank you Health Department for not allowing mediocrity when it comes to our food safety. Great job and never bend to the critics that feel you are being too tough.

Every school in our district has a problem. Roaches, rats, and spiders are everywhere. I am shocked only YV is closed. It’s a district problem, not a staff problem. Money needs to be spent on updating buildings..

Remember going to the Crepe place a few times when I was in college. I enjoyed the place 12 plus years ago but probably wouldn’t be back. When it comes to food I am not very forgiving….

When I worked at UC Berkeley Oh La la Crepes was located on University then they closed and relocated to Walnut Creek! I bet they clean up the place and get those critters out of there quick. Lots of people eat there and I am sorry they have a problem with the pests. I am confident they will get rid of them. I think it would be better if this health department would also report in Claycord when they clean up and pass the test. It is unfair of them not to.

I had a big beetle crawling on me in a meeting at the MDUSD dist office. I was told by staff that this was a reoccurring issue! Really? Can we get a bottle of Raid donated please!

Does YV still have those cheese zombies? I used to get one everyday. Makes you wonder how many times you’ve eaten “tainted” food without realizing it.

Northgate had the similar problem last year. I was glad my kids never bought a lunch there.

My son had a summer job before taking off to college, he worked as a side cook. The inspector came while he was cooking, did the through inspections.

The only (minor)violation the restaurant had was that they found one can with a dent.

That was the first time he worked in a kitchen, even 18 year-old can follow all the rules. They do through inspections, but they are not that difficult to follow( My son had to take the online food handler class before he started working).

You think the food is bad at these schools try looking at how bad the actual education is!

Don’t think that all restaurants go through the same health department criteria! Every county has different standards.
Contra Costa is very strict (thank god) and I personally think they should ALL be the same. Throughout the country.

Most restaurants, grocery stores, food warehouses
get vermin one time or another. Bugs get tracked in by food suppliers, employees, customers and open doors. Health Inspectors just have really stepped up their game. Look up your favorite restaurant health inspections, you will find something.

Found these vermin, now what. Close the restaurant because of these pesky things. What else are you going to do. Sushi time on one order.
