House of Sake, located at 313 N. Civic Dr. in Walnut Creek, was closed this week by the Contra Costa County health department after inspectors found cockroaches inside the restaurant, according to the inspection report provided to Claycord.com.

The health department says they received a complaint from a customer who claims to have seen a cockroach inside the restaurant while they were eating.

Upon inspection, the health department found ‘8+ live cockroaches on the floor underneath the mechanical dishwasher in the back kitchen, 1 dead nymph cockroach on the floor underneath the mechanical dishwasher, and observed different life cycles of cockroaches (i.e. nymphs & juveniles)’

thank you for the coverage.

Well it appears one government agency is working hard.

as Queen once sang, “another one bites the dust

“nymphs & juveniles” ah, those were the days… those WERE the days They say youth is wasted on the young. I say wisdom is wasted on the old.

nasty nasty yuck yuck and it will be full of people eating roaches dirty places should be shut down !!!

Guess we know what makes their Godzilla roll so crunchy.

Oh for Pete’s Sake!

All the libertarian anti government Claycordians should be forced to read this. You’d be eating rat s**t it it wasn’t for the gubmint.

do they have a new agent working the area?

Of you shine a black light on surface areas you will be able to see what rats and roaches leave behind

Wouldn’t it be easier to announce which eating establishment will be open on a given day (yes singular was intended)

Vermin; the equal opportunity infestation.

Sakeyucky.

It’s about time. When I moved here from San Francisco, 20 years ago, we visited this restaurant, I was given the soda with ants, floating on top of it. And they charged me for the soda.

Eggs, nymphs, juveniles, and adults…it’s the circle of life.
