This video was found on YouTube, it was posted by user Vicci Nolan. The description of the video says “Back in 1973, We were 2 high school seniors, and we fancied ourselves film makers. One of us held the super 8 camera, while the other held a sign that said, “smile.” The first half of the video was taken at Rheem Shopping Center in Moraga, CA and the second half was taken at Sunvalley Mall in Concord, CA. That’s it. Enjoy.”

Do you recognize anyone from the video?

This is such a cool video! Everyone looks so much happier and healthier back then. Thank you for sharing 🙂

Great movie. You wouldn’t be able to do that today because not many people smile anymore.

You could make the same movie at Sunvalley Mall today…. just change the sign to say “SMILE or I’ll put a cap in yo ass!”

Thats really great! We lived on pine st near park & shop so just about every weekend during the 70’s We would either ride our bikes or walk to the mall We would walk from one end to the other up &down looking at Girls We would also ice skate drink orange julius when we got the munches we would hit up hickory farms for the free samples of salami and cheese .It was the greatest fun times In My life Ill always remember those memories . Thanks for sharing,

Great video…. such simpler times – I was 11 in ’73, love all the cars and hairdo’s/clothing styles and people not being offended for being recorded. Spent a lot of time at the mall in my teens.
