I already sold the bridge, but I still have have a palace. It’s a one-time opportunity. I will give you a good price. Hurry before it’s gone!

Disneyland. The lines are long. The foods and drinks are expensive. And for y’all conservatives, it is getting woke.

They use dynamic pricing, so the ticket price varies depending on the day you go and is currently $106-203 per day ($164 for today). We spent the day at Disneyland Paris a week ago and it was ~$110 based on the exchange rate then. The park is nicer than the one in Anaheim, with more flowers is a bit more spread out and the castle is bigger. They have Hyperspace Mountain, which is a couple of notches above Space Mountain on the “extreme level” scale. Though it’s a little farther than Anaheim (only about 5,200 miles), you are near Paris and other beautiful parts of France. We tried to ignore the wokeness and enjoyed our day there.

How were the crowds? That’s the part I find insufferable.

The crowds weren’t too bad, not quite as bad as I remember from Disneyland in Anaheim. They limit the number of tickets for each day, and did not get to the limit last Wednesday when we visited. It took me about 30 minutes in line for Hyperspace Mountain, probably one of the most popular rides in the park and the lines at the restaurants were short, around 10 minutes in the two that we ate in. We really enjoyed our visit. Most of the people working there spoke good English as well as French. The park is about 45 minutes (about 45km/25 miles) from the middle of Paris.

i think hes talking about Anahiem on his last vacation a 42 year old got taken on with his parents

No, my wife and I were there on an 18 day road trip to The Netherlands, Belgium and France that we returned from on Monday. We last visited the one in Anaheim in January 2017.

I’ve been to a few: These were hyped up but surely not worth it.
Wall Drug, SD. I’ve been seeing signs for the past 500 miles. For this!?!?
The Winchester Mystery House, CA. No mystery, she was nuts.
The Alamo, TX. Lost me at the koi pond. Who knew Davy Crockett was into koi?

Fisherman’s wharf in San Francisco ….all the good restaurants are gone except Scomas..[which you cant find unless you know where it is]…..then there’s an endless line of shops that sell not much more then a bunch of worthless “nicky nackey” items that end up in the land fills shortly there after. The last place I would take anyone visiting.

Probably Disneyland. I haven’t been there in a long time, but from what I understand, it’s getting pretty expensive. The last time I went, it was $12.00. Another place is Yosemite,
it’s too crowded with way too many cars. The redwood country, in northern California, is
a lot less crowded and just as much fun to hike, swim, and camp, as it is in Yosemite.
And last but not least, San Francisco. The once beautiful city has turned into a haven for the homeless, followed by vandalism, armed robberies, and boarded up storefronts.

Have to agree with The Alamo in San Antonio TX, SF used to be safe, fun, but wild at the same time – not now, and unfortunately Disneyland – Walt Disney wanted it to be a fun & safe experience for everyone – now they cram as many people as possible into the park to maximize profits charge outrageous fees to get in … Walt’s rolling over right now

How can you say that? Have you ever been to Yosemite, that place is so magical. What about the wine country, the Coastline from Oregon all the way down to Morro Bay, Carmel, all the little quaint town in the Gold Country, Columbia, Murhphy’s, Nevada City, many others.

funny, from CA.gov

Yes, Prop 65 warnings are common in areas like Yosemite National Park due to potential exposures to chemicals that cause cancer or reproductive harm. These warnings are required by California’s Proposition 65.

Elaboration:

  • What is Proposition 65?
  • Proposition 65, also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, requires businesses to provide warnings to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals that can cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

Why are Prop 65 signs in Yosemite?
Yosemite, like many areas in California, might have Prop 65 signs due to potential exposure to chemicals such as diesel engine exhaust or carbon monoxide from diesel engines.

Where are these signs located?
Prop 65 signs in Yosemite are likely to be found at entrances to enclosed areas like parking facilities, ensuring they are visible to visitors before they enter.

What do the signs look like?
The signs typically contain a warning statement, such as “WARNING: This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm”. They also often include a website (www.P65Warnings.ca.gov) for more information.

Nothing will prevent me from visiting one of my all time favorite places ever, Yosemite.

LoL! Disneyland ….
aka “Standing In Line Land”

I have been to Disney World, not Disney land. I went to Legoland in my native Denmark with my daughter when she was 5 years old, I guess because it is a Danish company, I’m prejudice. I lived in Manhattan for about 3 years off and on, there’s lots to see, Grand Central Station, Central Park, and great museums. Whenever I have friends and family from overseas, we go to San Francisco and I get to see the City through their eyes. When my cousin was here in 2007, the City was still very nice. My girl friend and her husband were here in 2016, they were with a tour company, so I didn’t get that much time with them, but we did have dinner in North Beach, and then walked around, they were impressed by the neighborhood, and especially that City Light Bookstore was open late at night.

Hollywood Boulevard. Hands down the most overrated tourist attraction in the Western United States.

The Alamo. 🥱

Sutter’s Mill. The reason California became a state. Visited it about 25 years ago with my kids. Nothing but a log construction. No one there, nothing worth seeing. Very disappointed and haven’t been back. I have grandchildren now and there is an internet, so I may see if it has improved.

Notice how most, if not all of the places mentioned, are tied to liberal areas or woke ideology.

I do notice that tbe negative comments about california are from the usual haters.

More likely from people who have lived in or visited California for a long time. They are the ones who can see how much it has turned to s***.
It’s not hate, it’s sadness.

What do you expect Lovelace?
All the comments are supposed to be negative… the question was “what’s a famous place that’s NOT worth visiting?”

Not sure, when I travel, I try to be positive and take in new experiences. I do remember when my friends and I hitch hiked through Europe, we spend a few days in Paris we wanted to see the Mona Lisa, and as soon as my girlfriend laid eyes on the painting she said “that’s it”, I think what surprised us, was that it is a small painting. I had a few years earlier travelled to Holland with my school and we went to a museum in Amsterdam and Rembrandt’s painting “The Night Watchman” and it took up the whole wall, it was just so overpowering. The Mona Lisa not so much.

I too was disappointed by the Mona Lisa. The crowd at the Louvre was immense, and the crowd in the Mona Lisa room was jam packed. The painting is life size, so it is only about 2’x3′. But when I turned around from trying to see Mona, I was amazed by the HUGE painting on the opposite wall. That thing took up the whole wall! I don’t think anyone noticed any other art in that room because everyone was too busy fighting the Mona crowd.

I frankly don’t remember what else we saw at the Louvre, it was so long ago. I was lucky enough to live in New York City for 4 years off and on and often visited the Metropolitan and The Guggenheim and saw some great original art, also use to frequent museums in San Francisco, when they had special exhibitions. When I lived in Israel and we visited Jerusalem we went to the synagogue that have the windows done by Marc Chagall, they were very impressive.

I agree with a number of places listed here including Disneyland which I have only been to once with a group of people from the company I worked for. I’m not into 60 seconds of a stressful ride anyway so that also goes to other amusement packs including Great America. Not my idea of fun.
.
I’d add Washington, DC which I was a bit underwhelmed by. Atlanta, GA was also underwhelming. I’d add Tuscon and Phoenix both of which I played month long gigs at in the 1970s. Though the first gig in Tucson was okay as it was early 1970s. Visited Old Tuscon where they were filming “Night of the Lepus” though not during the tour but overnight. I lived in Seattle which was great in the 1970s as well as Portland which I frequently visit even as a child since an aunt lived in Camas. Both cities have blown it now.
