U.S. Rep. Mark DeSaulnier, D-Walnut Creek, will host a town hall meeting Wednesday evening in Danville to discuss immigration. DeSaulnier’s office said Tuesday the congressman will only release the venue location to people who RSVP for the event, due to concerns over security and venue capacity.
DeSaulnier said in an email to constituents announcing the meeting “The Trump Administration’s actions on immigration have been extreme, dangerous, and, in many cases, struck down by the courts. From sending migrants to Guantanamo Bay to deporting hundreds of Venezuelans to a foreign ‘Terrorism Confinement Center’ to opening up public places like schools and churches to ICE raids: people are scared among the makings of a constitutional crisis.”
DeSaulnier said he’ll also discuss the Trump Administration’s proposal to turn former Federal Correctional Institution Dublin into an ICE detention facility. The event will also serve as an immigration resource fair, with local organizations there, providing resources regarding the immigration process and immigrant rights, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The town hall will begin at 6:30 p.m.
To RSVP, go to https://desaulnier.house.gov/town-hall-rsvp. Confirmed attendees will receive more information, including the exact location, prior to the event.
The meeting will also be live streamed on Facebook, at https://www.facebook.com/RepMarkDeSaulnier or https://www.youtube.com/@pressdesaulnier7787/streams. There’s no need to RSVP to participate in the live stream.
Democrats, especially “shut up Mark”, should probably sit this one out.
The proverbial arsonist that calls the fire department and insists on being heralded as a hero.
Shut up Mark.
OMG, “constitutional crisis” and ICE Raids at public places like schools and churches. Wow, can they provide details on all those raids, terrible. LOL Are they going to talk about immigration and illegal immigration?
They haven’t grasped the difference between the two!
Why does he hold his town hall in Danville, where the people aren’t affected by living
among the illegal invaders? Affluent communities like Danville, with a substantially white American-born population, aren’t as affected by the shoplifting, loud music, litter and obnoxious behavior of illegals. The town hall should be held in Concord and proof of
citizenship should be shown to attend. That way, Mark will hear from honest Americans
whose lives have been disrupted by the illegal invaders.
Obnoxious behavior, you say! No, no, no, no!!! Illegal immigrants are beyond obnoxious behavior! They are frequently engaging in illegal and reckless behavior. If illegals didn’t care to love and better their countries, what makes anyone think that they will better and love American society!? After all, they have not had to work to be admitted into the country, so they feel entitled. Even more entitled once they begin sucking on the government tit from the moment they get here and get anchored right away. Their bad behavior is continued on by their children. If the trek to get to America is so difficult, then why millions have succeeded at crossing illegally?
I’m beyond sick and tired of hearing illegals say that they have the right to stay in the country because they pay taxes. EVERYONE!!! pays taxes, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!: Sales tax, income tax, gas tax, property taxes,….
So right. Some of us in the community can’t even get jobs because the illegals only hire amongst Mexicans. Mexicans ruin the whole job market in the Bay Area. Along with corrupt democrats in their houses in the hills while normal folks deal with the plague of illegals.
Mark,
The Constitutional Crisis started when your guy opened the gates and invited them in. You are the problem.
Maybe ICE will show up?
I would dare Mark to play this video at the town hall. This is Rachel Morin’s mother talking to
the press about the gruesome, and vicious attack, rape and murder of her daughter. Her story
left the press so stunned, that they didn’t have any questions.

It seems to me that people assume that once a person crossed into the United States, that person will automatically become law-abiding. If someone was already rotten, that rotten behavior will continue no matter where they go. Their native countries should keep them. Those countries should be paying our government for the legal expense that they cause by having to provide their sickos with legal representation that is funded through taxes.
I like him for he listens to constituents and has a good legislative record. thank god that he left the gop party.
“Listens to constituents?”
He only listens to those with whom he agrees.
Someday I’ll have to drag out those emails and letters from over the past 15 years to prove you’re full of $hit. If I can find them, I’ll scan/copy them and post them for your reading pleasure – and to prove you and Marky are hypocrites. I’ll bet he doesn’t remember those comments he made.
Town hall in Danville? Ya think he’s afraid to go where might be people who don’t agree with him? I thought he was supposed to represent ALL constituents.
Why would you have to scan an email?
Also, if one is marginalized, or has fringe views, you can’t expect a politician to represent every view you have.
Mark D. does some of the best sitting at sit ins… really!
I’ve been rating sit-ins since the 60’s and Mark nails it, butt good.
Sorry you pile of s#!t that you may lose your landscaper or maid so no one will pick your cotton for you anymore. White liberals….. the only ones complaining. https://www.thirteen.org/wnet/jimcrow/stories_org_democratic.html
Can we deport mark, another useless mouth piece. Is there a dem out there them gives a dam about legal US citizens. They keep raising taxes and fees to support illegals. Newscum provides meticaid to illegals and the nexst year wants a loan of billons to pay for it.
Well he’s gonna have another town hall in Lafayette on 4/23…. And not going (again ) to the Monument Corridor.
Hiding behind the white folk…
Danville, source of larger campaign contributions, WHITE GUILT and
a fear of being forced to clean their own houses and do their own yard work.
did 10 or 11 people show up?being generous here.
Well…. maybe I can get into the next event.
I didn’t know bullhorns were not allowed…. if only I’d driven over in a car instead of the Harley I could’ve just locked it in the trunk.
