On Wednesday, March 26 just before 4 p.m., Lafayette police officers were searching for a reckless driver who nearly hit a Lafayette PD motorcycle officer. The vehicle fled leading another officer on a pursuit which ended when the suspect collided with another car. There were no injuries. The suspect was taken into custody on Mt. Diablo Road. Stolen property from a drugstore and supermarkets was found in the vehicle. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Delvente Murry of San Francisco, was later booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on charges that include felony evading, hit and run, assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of stolen property. Murry is being held without bail.
