The City of Concord is seeking proposals for the purchase and development of Town Center II (picket fence property) – 3.1 acres of commercial land in downtown Concord within a quarter mile of the Downtown Concord BART station. Proposed projects should be consistent with Downtown Mixed-Use zoning, which could include multi-tenant commercial space, a hotel, or multi-family residential, among other possible uses.
Proposal deadline is May 12, 2025. To submit a proposal and receive updates, register on the Public Purchase website: https://www.cityofconcord.org/431/Bid-Opportunities
Because of the number of times that fence has been hit by vehicles I think Target would be appropriate.
Since Concord is trying to find a place for low income housing – why not this land?
Just_Real_Me,
.
If you’re referring to the rezoning taking place in East Concord and South Concord, this lot won’t work, as it’s out of the boundary zone specified by the State of California where rezoning must occur.
WONT CHANGE THE FACT THAT THE CITY OF COMCORD (YES..AS IN CITY OF COMPTON )
I WAS BORN IN CONCORD IN 1969 AND ITS GOTTA BE THE WORST IT’S EVER BEEN RIGHT NOW.
I TELL PEOPLE ALL THE TIME.. IF YOU WANT TO LIVE IN A LIBERAL CITY WHERE HOMELESS RUN AMUCK, MENTALLY DISTURBED HOMELESS PEOPLE WANDERING THE STREETS MASTURBATING IN PUBLIC AND DRUG ABUSE THEN AN INCOMPETENT POLICE CHIEF AND POLICE FORCES THAT REFUSEDS TO WORK WITH ICE TO MAKE OUR COMMUNITY SAFER.
CITY OF COMCORD AND CONCORD PD..💯
WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING?
RDS,

“Wayne ericson” appears to be “yelling” because he’s angry about the condition and state of decline that he’s witnessed and sees the City of Concord falling further into.
Wait a dang minute,
how many time has existing picket fence been
destroyed by vehicles running thru it ? ? ? ?
.
Any building built on corner at Galindo and Concord B
needs to be up armoured or perhaps a ramp and landing zone?
.
Plus put up cameras to record crashes.
Label as ‘Concord Crash CAMS‘ on internet.
Might end up being as famous as Todos Santos’
Charlie Brown Christmas Tree.
.
Famous low bridge CAM,

I’d put an In-N-Out on it. **No parking**! Only walk-up dine-in and drive-thru. Enter on Clayton Rd side, exit on Concord Blvd side OR Clayton Rd side – integrate the exits into the existing traffic control structures.
RDS,
.
This property more than likely doesn’t meet the criteria In-N-Out Burger requires when they’re selecting locations for their restaurants. The company prefers locations which can be seen from or are next to highways and freeways.
Why is there a picket fence in the first place? We really don’t care what goes there, it’s gonna be ugly whatever it is
Voices,

Didn’t the Concord City Council vote to put up the picket fence to “beautify” both the property and downtown Concord, as well as to restrict access to the property.
That’s how I remember it. I believe it originally cost $60,000.
Cowellian,
.
I believe you’re correct about the price. This fence is something else that the Concord City Council OVERPAID for.
Somehow I bet Seeno was involved with that overpriced fence.
That whole are around there is an eyesore, we never go in that area anymore as there are much better places to shop with better traffic control.
Concord went in the toilet long ago..
The city council back then and now doesn’t have a fricken clue just a bunch of Neanderthals.
Relocating the Ivey house…. allowing the city to reroute Concord Blvd. and Clayton Road to position that area to be on either the north or south side making the area more usable, for practical use. Those two roads could be split and make the transition further down closer to Mira vista Terrace to go there designated ways.
Something similar could be done in that triangular area bordered by East street, Clayton rd. and Sunset avenue.
I bid $100 and a couple of cases of corrosive surplus 30.06 ammo from Greece.
And I’m keeping the fence. Out of spite. 😎
