Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-10) announced that he will host a town hall in Concord to discuss how he and his Democratic colleagues are “fighting back in Congress against the actions of the Trump Administration, including efforts to gut Medicaid and Social Security,” on Thursday, March 20 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. PT.

At the town hall, Congressman DeSaulnier will share updates from Congress and information on early victories in the courts. He will also take questions from constituents.

Venue capacity has been reached, but everyone can watch by clicking on the following links:

I love how he assumes this is what his constituents want. I would bet a fair share of the m actually would oppose his actions…but they don’t fit his agenda.

I would think so, since all he is doing is “fighting” against common sense. The state of Minnesota owns over 1 million shares of Tesla and their governor takes pleasure in watching those vehicles burn. He couldn’t care less about the citizens of his state and how that could affect them. Mark is the same way.

Walz enjoys watching Tesla stock drop!

@Dr. J
That’s what I’m talking about. His own state has a lot of stock in Tesla and he wants that company destroyed. Mark voted “Nay” on the HR28 bill. These two dudes are rooting for people to get hurt, financially and physically.

Fighting back, no there is no fight left Dems are done they will never pull out of the toilet. There’s a very good reason their mascot is a jackass.

Does he believe he really represents the people of his District.. His dialogue would seem to imply that he is focused on just a select group and attitude…..

Fighting back against deporting criminals? Ok bro we are not with you. Maybe just retire and let an intelligent adult take your place.

Wasting oxygen should be illegal.

I don’t believe for a minute that Very Red District 10 actually elected him. But there is zero chance of audit anywhere in the Bay area.

Trump has ended funding for the Local Fund for Schools Cooperative Agreement program, a program Congress authorized and funded. This Department of Agriculture program not only fed poor kids, it also gave small farmers a market for their products. Now those kids will go hungry and farmers will face bankruptcy and the loss of their farms.

Hopefully, California kids and farmers are less at risk than those living in poorer states, but I sure don’t want to see any small farmers lose their farms, or poor kids becoming malnourished due to a penny-wise, pound foolish notion of a multiple times-bankrupt president and a government-subsidized oligarch.

What Trump and Musk are doing to our system of government is either short-sighted and stupid, or it is malignantly intentional kleptocracy. We all should be fighting back!

Bankrupting American farms and industry seems to be part of Trump’s plan. He’ll be able to take them over for pennies per acre and to build more casinos and hotels just like the ones he wants for the Gaza strip.

Out of curiosity KPA, are you referring to the program that was created during the pandemic and was specifically intended for supporting the local farmers duirng the pandemic? Cause if so … not sure if ou have noticed .. the pandemic over. As it is over, wouldn’t it make sense to end that program that was intended only for the pandemic?

Politics of fear…go ahead spread false crap around so you can look like a hero.

You all should schedule time in his office to speak with him. I have met with him three times in the past year and voiced my concerns and opinions. I have found him to be attentive, reflective, and responsive. Even on the issue I disagreed with him about, he explained his reasoning for his vote.

Rather than be mad online, democracy requires a participatory population through petition.

12
18

Really? Did he take any action in response to your concerns or opinions?
Bobble head is my guess.

17

Teacher is just making things up again. That was clear when he said Mark was reflective.

He/She/Whatever tends to make up history, constitutional ‘facts’ and now potentially about their interactions with dead beat politicians. We cannot prove they made up this story up … but if history is to be trusted, I think you may be right Cyn.

Perhaps someone can ask him why his party believes a burning Tesla does not have a negative effect on climate change.

The evil wicked satanic Demon-crat party is finished!

Fighting back…. Arson seems to be the popular method.
Democrats are also fighting back the same way they have been doing for years… keeping Trump buried in bogus legal actions, fake news & false victim accusations.
“RESIST!” and the will of the people be damned.
Maybe Mark will jump into action with a sit-in protest too!
He got his picture in the paper last time he did that… didn’t accomplish anything tho.

Example: Mark says “fighting back in Congress against the actions of the Trump Administration, including efforts to gut Medicaid and Social Security”
That is a blatant lie.

Thank you for posting a unbiased link, much appreciated. As referenced in that article, where folks differ right now is ‘the math doesn’t work.’ We do not believe a $4.8T tax cut for the rich is warranted, when so many of us are struggling to put food on the table.

To fund that tax cut requires cuts, and the GOP has proposed cutting $880 B from the committee that funds Medicare (Trump says off limits), Medicaid, and ‘Other,’ where other is < $880B.

Take a look at this great, validated as accurate, visual breakdown: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2025/02/21/upshot/house-gop-budget-blueprint.html?unlocked_article_code=1.zk4.1iBc.BTgHuPglAQLG&smid=url-share

Where will the cuts come from then? There is not $880B of fraud and waste in these programs. The GAO has tracked this for years.

“The GAO office’s estimate of $233 billion to $521 billion lost in fraud per year covered 2018-22 data in reports from agency inspector generals and fraud reports submitted to the Office of Management and Budget.”
“Musk cited the high end of the range when he said “half a trillion.”

40% of Californians voted for Trump. What about us?

It’s is far pass time to turn California
RED. The Democrats have done enough damage to this state.
Doing thing the same way over and over and expecting a different results is insanity. No this wasnt a quote from Einstein.

Does anything ever end up getting accomplished from Morts incessant town hall meetings?

Can’t wait until he announces he is leaving office.

I’d like to hear him denounce far left domestic terrorism. I’ll bet he won’t.
In fact, I haven’t heard any Democrat Congressmen or Senators denounce it.

As I would love to hear the GOP denounce Jan 6th. But it seems we are stuck there.

Trump said: ““Like all Americans, I am outraged by the violence, lawlessness and mayhem.”

Jan,7th 2021

Today was a dark day in the history of the United States Capitol… We condemn the violence that took place here in the strongest possible terms… To those who wreaked havoc in our Capitol today, you did not win. Violence never wins. Freedom wins.

Former Vice President Mike Pence, January 6, 2021

Those storming the Capitol need to stop NOW. The Constitution protects peaceful protest, but violence—from Left or Right— is ALWAYS wrong. And those engaged in violence are hurting the cause they say they support.

There is nothing patriotic about what is occurring on Capitol Hill. This is 3rd world style anti-American anarchy.

United States Capitol Police saved my life. Attacks on law enforcement officers trying to do their jobs are never acceptable. Period. We can passionately protest without being violent.

Chaos, anarchy. The violence today was wrong and un-America
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), January 6, 2021

I have 17 more (and I know there are a whole lot more) but I’m not going to post all that. The info is out there, look it up if you care.
Personally I think the chaos on Jan. 6th was orchestrated by the left for political purposes and the FBI used their assets to incite the violence as requested.

I suspect he will leave office as pelosi will, as feinstein did, as ginsburg left SCOTUS, only when they acclimate to room temperature. Why get off the gravy train?

Why is there no time, date, or place.
I know there’s no more tickets available, why no info. Must be by invitation only. And you can guess who a invited.

Dissent is not allowed.
Crowd and questions were preselected.
It is… Bidenesque.

Sorry they add time, date later. Still no place!

The Constitution explicitly gives Congress, not the president, the power of the purse.  Article I, Section 9, Clause 7: “No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law.” The president does not have the power to override spending laws that Congress has passed and the president has signed into law.

GOP used to be constitutionalists. Our country was founded on 3 independent branches serving as checks and balances to avoid any absolute power in one branch.

If a Democratic President decided to change funding for any program in the country that Congress had voted on, would you be okay with that?

If a Democratic Senate/House wrote into law something that overrode the Supreme Court, would you be okay with that?

Do you remember Joe Biden, and the students loans. The Supreme Count said he could do it and he did anyway.
Or one on his staff did.

said he “couldn’t” do it and he did anyway.(typos happen)
