The following is from the Brentwood Police Department:

Brentwood Police Department (BPD) officers were dispatched to Safeway on Balfour Road for a report of a theft that had just occurred. The suspect had reportedly left the store. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Frankey Hall of Concord, attempting to hide. Hall was quickly detained and found to be in possession of the stolen merchandise. Due to Hall’s numerous prior theft-related convictions, and under Proposition 36, the theft—totaling approximately $300—was elevated to a felony offense. Hall was subsequently arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. The Brentwood Police Department remains committed to thoroughly investigating theft-related crimes and holding repeat offenders accountable. Proposition 36 allows law enforcement to take more action against habitual offenders, helping to protect businesses and the community from ongoing criminal activity.

DA Becton: Time to do your job with this cretin. No release, no mercy, no plea-bargain. Take him to trial and make sure he becomes an inmate doing many years.

Well now, what’s CoCo district attorney to do ? ? ?
Does Prop 36, that passed with 68.42% of the vote, mean anything to her ? ? ?

Very nutritious haul.

If it weren’t for the bottles of liquor, I might have felt some sympathy.
