An Irishman named O’Malley went to his doctor after a long illness. The doctor, after a lengthy examination, sighed and looked O’Malley in the eye and said, “I’ve some bad news for you. You have cancer, and it can’t be cured, you’d best put your affairs in order.”

O’Malley was shocked and saddened; but he managed to compose himself and walk from the doctor’s office into the hallway to his son who was waiting, O’Malley said, “Well son. We Irish drink when things are good, and we drink more when things don’t go so well… in this case, things aren’t so well…. I have cancer.
Let’s head for the pub and have a few pints.”

After 3 or 4 pints, the two were feeling a little less somber. There were some laughs and more beers. They were eventually approached by some of O’Malley’s old friends who asked what the two were celebrating.

O’Malley told them that the Irish drink for the good times and the bad. He went on to tell them that they were drinking to his impending death. He told his friends, “I have been diagnosed with AIDS.”

The friends gave O’Malley their condolences, and they had a couple more beers. After his friends left, O’Malley’s son whispered his confusion.

“Dad, I thought you said that you were dying from cancer?
You just told your friends that you were dying from AIDS!”

O’Malley said “Yep but I don’t want any of them boinking your mother after I’m gone.”

Six U.S. state capitals lie west of Los Angeles. So there! I was surprised.

Without looking on my Google device, I guessed 4.. Alaska, Oregon, Hawaii and Washington.
After consulting the map..
I’m adding Idaho and Nevada

and California

Cowellian’s first.
I’m expecting a great weekend, and I hope yours is great, too.

The market at Willow Pass and 6th was held up last night by a guy with a shot gun. According to CPD the robber was shot and killed by a store employee. Wow.

What is going on at old Kmart parking lot? It’s a madhouse! Loud cars speeding as they leave.

So apparently some business in that Kmart center got a permit to have this car meet. Question is who organized this and who gave the permit. There were a lot of police calls about this event and cops had to come clear it out.

Stop look and listen,
.
Here’s a CBS/KPIX 5 news story about a business grand opening car show that was canceled last year. It’s possible that it may have been the same business that had the permit for this car show.

Here’s an article in the EB Times that is spot on. The high rise high density housing craze in no what Calif needs. https://www.eastbaytimes.com/2025/02/22/opinion-californias-housing-crisis-needs-more-than-densify-densify-densify/

Bankrupt crafts retailer Joann closing all stores
NEW YORK, Feb 24 (Reuters) – Crafts retailer Joann Inc plans to close all of its stores in bankruptcy, after failing to find a buyer willing to preserve some of the 82-year-old company’s 800 U.S. retail locations. . . .

I’m happy to see that over the last couple of weeks Claycord has returned to its roots and is again covering more local matters and events, and has moved away from just posting press releases from different government agencies, businesses, and organizations.

Gene Hackman, his wife and their little dog too, all found dead in their home in New Mexico.
Cops say no foul play involved.
I’m guessing it was a gas leak or something similar.
He was 95… one of the great ones.
