Received the details below from the city regarding the 2/25 Council meeting. No further public comment is allowed at the meeting, but it would be good to have some homeowners show up anyway. The tenant activists (organized by various Oakland and Berkeley groups) will be there with signs to wave and they are being asked by the organizers to color coordinate (wear red).
there is a good possibility individually owned homes will be removed from the horrible ordinance, but no guarantee the swing vote (Pablo Benavente) will be able to hold up to the verbal attacks against him. You can help by writing letters to the council (the how-to is explained in the agenda Link). If you can attend the meeting bring a sign of some sort and don’t wear red. The February 25 meeting will be held at 6:30 pm in the City Council Chamber located at 1950 Parkside Drive. The meeting will be aired on Concord TV and live streaming will occur via Zoom and the City’s website. Public comment on the item was closed at the February 4, 2025 meeting so no new public comment will be heard on this agenda item, but you are invited to attend the meeting. The agenda for the meeting and the staff report will be available on the City’s agenda page in advance of the meeting, no later than close of business today.

Gas prices? Trump did that. Egg prices? Trump did that. Grocery prices? Waiting for those promised prices to fall.

As far gas prices, eggs, and inflation – Its going to take more than a day, or a week or a few months to undue the massive devastation and damage done to the country by Joe Biden and his regime.
Fox and the Wall Street Journal both had polls indicating Trump’s drop in popularity. And many of his more extreme actions are less popular than he is. At least according to Fox and the Wall Street Journal.
And the world opinion is far less measured than Fox and the Wall Street Journal. The EU, Turkey, Ukraine, Canada, Mexico, Greenland, Japan, Egypt, Jordan, the Islamic countries, most of Africa and South America, and even China realize that Trump is a bully and a buffoon whose word is not to be trusted.

It doesn’t matter what Trump’s approval rating is with citizens around the world. Trump said what he wanted to do, ran a campaign on it, and won. And now he is doing what he said he would. Enough with the extreme, bully, and buffoon jargon. That old ship has sunk.

Why do you care so much about what “The EU, Turkey, Ukraine, Canada, Mexico, Greenland, Japan, Egypt, Jordan, the Islamic countries, most of Africa and South America, and even China” thinks about President Trump and the US? If all of those countries have such a negative view of President Trump and the US, then it more than likely means that President Trump is acting in the best interest of the United States, and not acting in the best interest of foreign countries. If all of those foreign countries and regions that you mentioned have such a negative view of President Trump and the United States, then they’re not forced to do any business with President Trump or the US, and they’re more than free to cut ties with us.

The Bird Flu hoax is why egg prices are high. Similar to the Covid hoax, here’s how it goes.
1) Birds get tested for the flu with an inaccurate PCR test.
2) If any bird tests positive, the farmer get’s paid to put down the entire flock.
3) Egg shortages increase prices.
4) But Big Pharma has a cure. In his final days in office Biden gave a massive grant to Zoetis for a bird flu vaccine.
5)Submit to the jab, and all your troubles will go away. Don’t submit, pay high prices and face shortages and increased regulation of poultry.

They figure cutting us off from protein sources will make us weak so they can order us around (and into the ground). Don’t fall for it. Hong Kong University studied the problem and found that the chlorinated water the farmers were using weakened the chickens immune system making them susceptible to viruses. Let them drink pond water which they can handle just fine and no virus ensues. Do a search and you can find (very technical) NIH papers on this.

Agree on both points. Feeding people these frankenfoods means they will be weaker and less intelligent people. They will have more health problems and they will feel the urge to eat more, because they are not getting the nutrition they need – most of which can come from one natural and neatly contained item – the egg.
And yes, chickens have very robust immune systems. I give mine fresh water. But they prefer to drink from the weeks old water that has been sitting in my fountain.

You previously stated that your students political views are across the political spectrum and they have “respectful adult conversations” about their political views in class. If that’s true, then some portion of or all of your students would agree with some or all of the comments here. Should you really be calling the political viewpoints of your students “rubbish” and naming your current events assignment “Are you kidding me?”, thereby implying some of your students have an unacceptable political viewpoint. By doing so, you’re influencing your students viewpoints, encouraging and teaching them to think like you, and not teaching them how to think. You’re not doing a good job of hiding your political views here, where you’ve admitted you have your students read comments in class and some students respond to comments on their free time, and it’s seriously doubtful that you’re able to hide your political ideology in class or while on school grounds.

The Concord City Council meeting was shut down and ended abruptly last night due to a protest by tenant rights/rent control activists after the council voted 3-2 to change the city ordinance exempting owners of 2 single family homes/town houses/condominiums from the rent control ordinance.
Congressman Mark DeSaulnier and Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren have sent a joint letter to the Trump-Vance Administration opposing the “reported” plans to reopen Federal Correctional Institution Dublin to house illegal aliens prior to their deportations.
