If you haven’t noticed, they’re building more condos/townhomes on Clayton Rd. in Concord.
The “Penny Lane” townhome style condos will be three-story, and will range from 1,610 to 2,466-square-feet.
They’re located on Clayton Rd., across from the El Monte Shopping Center (Goodwill area).
Spectacular views🤣
Homes being built all over! The housing crisis is ending, affordability will increase, unsheltered people will have a place to live!
You jest right? Those things will be going for upward of $700,000 bucks
We looked last year and I believe they were starting at $750. We wanted some additional amenities and we were looking at over $800 at that point. It was very disappointing to know that we can’t even afford a townhome in our hometown unless we wanted to eat cans of beans.
The the “progress” everyday … that’s what you can expect at the K-Mart site and the others being rezoned. High density minimum 3 story housing… sad
Does anyone really think that all these new housing developments are going to have any sort of impact on all these homeless people the city has allowed to live on our streets? It won’t.
Nope they are all high end apartments, its not cost effective to offer lower priced/lower quality homes anymore , just these huge monstrosities are what will be built from now on.
1 house costs more than the developer paid for the entire lot, former car storage lot.
And? You think they would work for free?
I’m wondering how common it is among Claycordians on if they live in a one story or one level home, mostly one level, two level, or this new three level style home.
.
I bought a one level home thinking ahead to the day when stairs get hard to navigate. We have had a number of people move into this neighborhood specifically because they want or need a one level home or are thinking ahead to when they will need a one level home. It’s also a popular neighborhood for people with work trucks, trailers, boats, and RVs.
.
I noticed the Penny Lane condos do not have garages nor covered parking. Google Street view shows what looks like five parking stalls. Is that it? https://maps.app.goo.gl/sg7gQ4x6WAoBvUz49
Man, Concord is coming under fire with the housing situation. I’ve been here since Clayton Road was a two lane street. I grew up on Wilson Lane and it was the epitome of the American Dream.
60 years later I am still in Concord in a really sweet spot in a manufactured home on a beautiful lot near Lime Ridge. I pay less for space rent and utilities than I would for a one bedroom apartment in this city.
Housing for a growing community is a necessity. I hope Concord is wise about their decisions and have a vision of sustainability without forfeiting the safety and the well being of residents.
