Contra Costa Red Cross recognized the Concord Police Department and the Concord Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) at their annual partner recognition awards ceremony held last Friday, January 31. The department and CERT were honored for their collaboration with Red Cross in April 2024 during their signature Sound The Alarm event, where smoke alarms were installed in over 100 homes in Concord. Additionally, Red Cross acknowledged Concord CERT, along with Walnut Creek and Martinez CERT, for participating in shelter training in June 2024. As a result, trained CERT volunteers are now prepared to support Red Cross in setting up and operating a shelter during emergencies.
