Authorities are investigating a burglary at Pacheco’s Mexican Grill in Pacheco this morning. The crime occurred around 2 a.m. when a masked man (pictured) broke the windows, went inside the small, locally-owned business, and stole about $100 and a jacket. Anyone with information should call the restaurant or the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff. Or you can text us an anonymous tip to 925-800-NEWS and we’ll pass it along.

A local restaurant always placed the empty register till in full view of the door window, in fact wedging it on the push handle. He had an overhead light shining down on the register showing it was empty and a camera positioned so that it could capture an image if a burglar was so stupid to break in.
