Contra Costa Community College District (4CD) is pleased to announce monthly workshops for anyone interested in learning more about job opportunities at a California Community College, as well as for those who are actively seeking work and want help navigating the process.
California Community Colleges are a major employer in nearly every county across the state. Jobs at California Community Colleges range from hourly part-time work to lifetime careers with terrific benefits and retirement plans.
For anyone seeking work at a California Community College in any area, including classified positions (i.e. business services, custodial, program coordinators, instructional assistants, athletic trainers); faculty positions (instructional, counselors, and librarians); as well as management positions, 4CD will be offering live, online workshops via Zoom on the first Monday of every month beginning February 3, 2025, from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
4CD’s Associate Vice Chancellor, Chief Human Resources Officer Dr. Jeffrey Michels, will begin with a short presentation on strategies for finding job postings at any California Community College. After, Dr. Michels will offer tips on writing applications and making it through the paper screening process; interview preparation and techniques; ways to use Artificial Intelligence to help in your job search; and then he will answer questions.
Dr. Michels has spent more than 25 years in community colleges, formerly working as an English Professor and Department Chair at Contra Costa College, and a statewide faculty union leader.
