Local police should not be armed military. Each year they load up on more and more weapons of unreasonable force, and, as soon as needed, the first thing taken will be your personal legal weapons. Might even do it sooner rather than later just before scumbag OG tech bro Larry Ellison asks them to force you to take the cancer jab.

The biggest recent threat to Martinez came after the Mayor and council instigated racial tensions by approving a BLM mural in front of the court house.
I’m not sure how military surplus items would have helped that situation. Likely it would have enflamed the Antifa wannabes even more.
In general, the police should come from the community and not be armed like an occupying power.
