Thanks to the anonymous Claycordian who sent us this picture of a coyote running in the neighborhood near Boundry Oak golf course off Valley Vista in Walnut Creek.
Of course it’s open space around that area, and that’s where the coyotes live, but keep your eyes out if you’re out walking around with your pets or children.
Watch your dogs and cats. I once saw a Coyote walking on the median near Monument and Oak Grove. Critters are thriving down here due to the rain and subsequent plant growth; Coyotes are smart and can easily find them. We’ve been hearing an owl here and haven’t hear that sound since the drought. Where there is prey there are preditors.
TPC ~ We live near Willow Pass Rd., across the way from the NWS, and can hear the Coyotes, which are very active. Plus, yes, we are enjoying hearing both owls again, … Horn & Barn at night, …. with other birds of prey active during the day that nest in our neighborhood.
Looks like the Roadrunner took a bite out of his ear.
That ear is reserved for appetizers, the active ear is for the main course.
Probably another would be assassin who couldn’t shoot straight.

Made me blow a snot bubble! 👊
Coyote also reported on walk in Crossings/Walnut Country.
There are several coyotes roaming Diablo Shadows neighborhood at night and along the CCC trail bordering Boundary Oak …almost every night – I watch them on a trail cam … bobcats, deer, raccoons, possum, skunks too … have yet to see a mountain lion here but I’m still watching!
