What do you call an elf that runs away from Santa’s workshop? A rebel without a Claus.

Rest in peace Rickey Henderson.

Awwwww…. Ricky Henderson died.

I didn’t see your post, I mourn with ya. ⚾️

Rickey Henderson died today at 65.
As far as I’m concerned, in the top ten all time.
This sucks.

Also RIP Zakir Hussain. What a frickin percussion talent.

Thank you to the wonderful Good Sarmatian Lady who comforted me in the SAGE Concord parking lot Wednesday afternoon as we were off loading our beloved 14.5 year old Chow Chow-Pomeranian mix Lexi to be humanly euthanized. Husband Jim was helping 2 nurses get Lexi onto a plush lined gurney to take her into the hospital. I actually thought this woman was a Vet to triage Lexi. I was crying, told the woman it wasn’t easy, even after 14.5 years. She had tears in her eyes, hugged me, shaked her head as if telling me she knew so, got into a car in the SAGE Emergency Parking Area, and drove off.

I don’t know if perhaps she had just been through the same ordeal. She was Asian, wearing a long puffy coat, a polo shirt with embroidery I couldn’t quite see underneath the coat neck space. But she was an Angel in the absolute right time for me.

I wish I could tell her thank you.

I’m not religious but I do believe in Angels. And this tells me there are many good people in this world. Sometimes unexpectedly when you need them the most.

I know how you feel Mary.
I’m still mourning for my beloved Miniature Pinscher who passed away in September.
The cruelest thing the Creator ever did was to give dogs such a short lifespan.

I agree!
We have had some wonderful dogs, and the passing of each absolutely broke my heart.

One of my girlfriends once said taken a pet is taken on volunteering sorrow. I never had a dog, but l have had several cat’s. My favorite was an orange female, she was very pretty and lived to be 19, the others about 16.

I am sitting here reading this with my best buddy at my side. I know the day will come for him, as it will for us all, and know the love shared will always endure. Peace and love to you.

We had a group of maybe 20 carolers come down our street. Hadn’t seen that in 4 decades. It was so nice, and I hope that group continues that, making it a tradition. Brightened our house for sure. If any are Claycorders, a heartfelt thank you.

I wanted a pony.

Doc Jelly
That’s tough, just appreciate what you got and live with it. Maybe next time you’ll get a spanking.
How’s it going, out there in the Delta? And, speaking of the Delta, years ago, there was a restaurant, on board a moored riverboat; can you assist with a name?

Floating restaurants? Hmmm….Well, there is the Sugar Barge on Bethel Island (closed for winter) & there was Moore’s Riverboat Restaurant in Isleton that burned up in 2022.
There are others built right on the water completely on pilings but they aren’t floaters. And it’s going well out here thanks for asking… had nice Christmas with family.
We watched football and a sea lion eating up a bunch of salmon in the slough behind the house… very entertaining.

Thanks, Doc, Moore’s was the place I was thinking of, but didn’t know it burned down. Getting old, and beginning to remember many of the “old times”. A place in Isleton to be remembered, much more recent, is Peter’s Steak House. Stopped there on the way home from Sacto, had a delicious prime rib sandwich, ready to go back for a second helping one of these days, along with some of their bread pudding. Any good recommendations out your way? Hope New Year’s turns out as good as your Christmas

Concord Peruvian Restaurant “Lima” is closing on December 31 after losing a legal battle claiming discrimination for offering discount drinks on “ladies night”.
Chef John Marquez said they are not allowed to share details over the lawsuit “It was not enough for these people as they wanted financial compensation, and based on several attorney’s recommendations and our attorney’s advice we settled out of court and will absorb all the expenses” and “are unable to fully recover from the lawsuit”
