Of all the great, dare I say iconic, lines in NLCV, my favorite is actually the last line if the movie, “I did it.”

Favorite: White Christmas. Bing at his finest.
Least Favorite: It’s a Wonderful Life. Jimmy Stewart at his most annoying.

Without question “It’s a Wonderful Life”, not only Christmas movie, but one of my al-time favorite movies, up there with Casablanca and From Here to Eternity, especially if we are talking black and white movie from the forties and fifties. James Stewart was great in it, they movie never fails to lift me up, and it should do the same to all of us, it shows how one mans or women’s life touches so many in a lifetime.
Seeing Donna Reed in this movie and also From Here to Eternity, shows what a great actress she was, playing the wholesome Mary, to the escort in From Here to Eternity.

Truman Capote’s “A Christmas Memory” which you can watch on Youtube. As you’d expect, it’s extremely eccentric, a good look at a long-gone time.
Oops, correction “Rare Exports”. It’s a 2010 award winning Finnish Christmas horror-comedy. I watched it again last night on Joe Bob Brigg’s “The Last Drive-in” show.
A four way tie:
Scrooged; Carol Kane deserved an Oscar.
Bad Santa; Brilliant performances by John Ritter and Bernie Mack.
The original animated How the Grinch Stole Christmas; Fantastic Boris Karloff narration.
Raging Rudolph from Mad TV: still on Youtube and still great.

I should also mention “Lion in the Winter”, starring Peter O’Toole as King Henry ll, and Katherine Hepburn as his wife, who he keeps locked up, except for Holidays. The acting of these 2 legends are off the wall. The dialogue is snappy and clever. It also features Anthony Hopkins in his first major role I believe. I always loved the line spoken by Henry “it’s no good asking if the air is any good when there is nothing else to breathe”.
A Christmas Carol
I have two, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and Home Alone.
Any movie with Chevy Chase or Joe Pesci are usually worth watching.
