The following is from the Concord Police Department:
On 12/10/24 at approximately 9:01 PM, the Concord Police Department Dispatch Center received several calls regarding multiple gunshots heard and a person on the ground in the area of Oak Grove Rd. and Pear Dr. Officers quickly arrived and found a 53-year-old male victim who had sustained several gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and are actively investigating the case.
At this time, there are no immediate public safety concerns. No further information is being released at this time.
This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to call Detective Justin Wilson at (925) 603-5859 or the Concord Police Department tip-line at (925) 603-5836.
So wait a minute…, you state…..”At this time, there are no immediate public safety concerns”, yet there are no arrests and the suspect is obviously still outstanding. So how does that work????
Exactly, murderer(s) on the loose but no public danger. Perfectly safe to go take a midnight stroll in that area by yourself with a backpack on your back.
The article did not state that a suspect is not in custody. Obviously, he or she has been detained, which is the reason there is no immediate threat to the public.
Then… Why don’t the authorities state that? To keep the public informed, rather than guessing..
There is NOTHING in the released statement that indicates a suspect is in custody.
You folks sure assume a lot.
wow…how informative….eagerly anticipating the next update…
No immediate public safety concerns? Does that mean it was a targeted murder?
I understand the need for CPD to do their investigation, but a bit more information would go a long way to allay the concerns of the good people of Concord.
