A driver, who was most likely drunk, distracted or speeding (or all three), destroyed AT&T utility boxes on N. Larwin Ave. in Concord’s Crossings neighborhood early this morning.
This is when they find out if there are up to date ‘as built prints’ showing all field wiring changes.
.
Comparing what cabinets looked like before accident street view, N Larwin and Corkwood, telephone cabinet. on the right, appears to have been sheared off at base and shoved 5 – 6 feet. That is gonna be many man hours to restore.
Cabinet on left in pre-accident picture, looks to be natural gas back up generator.
.
Is going to get a very LARGE BILL to restore both cabinets.

There was a real bad one in Discovery Bay last night.
The title of the post and implied opinion within the article should be a clue on the reporting integrity.
I like Claycord for local news, but it is just that…local.

Anything and everything that costs AT&T money is fine with me.
This may be AT&T’s excuse now for stopping landline service in the area. You know that’s their aim.

I haven’t seen any statistics on it, but it sure seems that single-vehicle crashes have been happening with significantly greater frequency over the past ten years, at least. I hope the driver’s phone wasn’t badly damaged.

Are we to assume that the driver fled the scene and was not arrested/cited?
