Concord Police Officers successfully apprehended two individuals associated with organized retail theft and vehicle burglaries following a slow-speed pursuit and foot chase in the Sunvalley Shopping Center area this afternoon.
The incident began at approximately 2:30PM when Concord Police received a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) for a vehicle linked to organized retail theft and vehicle burglaries. LPR cameras alerted officers that the vehicle had been seen near Diamond Boulevard and Burnett Avenue.
Special Enforcement Team (SET) officers quickly located the vehicle in the area and initiated an enforcement stop. The driver failed to yield, leading to a slow-speed pursuit. Another officer deployed spike strips, disabling the vehicle, which continued at a reduced speed into the Sunvalley Shopping Center property.
The vehicle came to a stop in the southeast corner of the shopping center, where the four occupants fled on foot. Officers immediately pursued, capturing and arresting two of the individuals. The other two suspects remain outstanding, and officers are continuing their investigation.
The vehicle was determined to be stolen out of San Francisco. Upon processing the vehicle, officers discovered burglary tools and a variety of stolen property inside the car.
