On November 20, 2024 at approximately 7:00 pm, the multi-agency Central County SWAT Team assisted members of the US Secret Service with serving a federal arrest warrant for a subject in the 100 block of Macalvey Dr. in Martinez.

While serving the warrant, the subject of the arrest warrant barricaded himself in a house. Members of the SWAT Team deployed diversionary tactics in an effort to make contact with the lone male subject and encourage him to surrender.

After several attempts a member of the Crisis Negotiating Team established contact with the subject and was able to convince him to surrender.

The man’s name and the reason for the arrest hasn’t been released at this time. That information is expected to be released by this afternoon.

Interesting times in martinez.
Earlier this week there were three sheriff cars on Pacheco along with four tow trucks.
They had made entry to a junk yard next to the train trestle and were pulling vehicles out.

There’s a story I’d like to hear more of.

Sounds like a good job by various LE entities and must have been more than a littering violation ….. but need more detail

I don’t really care what they were doing, with whom or where.

And yet…here you are, engaging. That’s a good sign.
