The following is from the Concord Police Department:

Today, Concord Police officers attempted to stop a vehicle reported stolen out of Alameda County. The driver failed to yield and fled into a nearby neighborhood. Officers searching the area located the stolen vehicle abandoned. Witnesses informed officers that the suspects entered a second vehicle, which was later determined to be stolen, and fled the scene.

A CPD officer spotted the second vehicle traveling northbound on Willow Pass Road from Landana Drive. As it approached Highway 4, the vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle traveling southbound on Willow Pass Road near the Kinney Bridge. Fortunately, only minor injuries were reported at the scene. CPD officers were not in pursuit of the vehicle at the time of the collision.

The two suspects were arrested on multiple charges related to the stolen vehicles and the collision. Willow Pass Road was closed for approximately one hour during the investigation.

The officers had every opportunity to shoot those suspects right on the spot and end their lives right then and there with no possibility of more future criminal Acts.

little harsh but cannot say I disagree.

Not harsh at all, they gave up all their rights as soon as they committed this crime and are entitled to the full extent of punishment that anyone wants to give them and teach them a lesson on the spot.

What is exactly so harsh? They are breaking the law willfully with mal intent. Do you honestly think either of the 2 criminals would care if an innocent civilian was killed due to their actions? Tired of criminality & those who enable the criminals!

Like I said “can’t say I disagree” and I do believe 100% that when you commit a crime you deprive someone of their rights so doing you willfully give up your rights as a human being but being on the giving side of that gun (not the getting side) they have to live with that, night be ok might not… that’s what I mean about harsh.

Lock them up and throw away the key!

Probably both time to end this madness!

About a month ago, there was an abandoned Lexus or Mercedes close to Kinney Bridge, it took a while for CHP to take it away from there. I had a close call with a BMW driver not too long ago, I had to get close to the embankment to avoid a possible collision. Fortunately, the other driver got back in the lane. Willow Pass needs street lighting and to have raised divider, a foot or two tall.

I understand why cops don’t chase speeding suspects, but these types of situations are the reason why traffic laws need to be enforced not only by CHP, local police, and even the Sheriff, but also in court.
Driving in our local roads is becoming more and more like driving in 3rd world countries. The United States is fast becoming a 3rd world country but people keep on thinking were as a good as European countries. Weird!

The mayor of Oakland had mandated the cops cannot chase people and you see what happened to that hellhole city. The criminals took over…and even spread out to our areas. The mayor also just got recalled so hopefully things will improve. I’m glad America has come to his senses with some of this crazy liberalism.

I am wondering if these are the same punks CPD were chasing on Clayton Road Monday. # squad cars following behind very slowly. They were east bound ahead of me. When i approached the light after Farm B. I saw the parade coming Westbound across the Meridian. I stopped at the green light to let LEO be clear to engage them but they drove diagonally across the intersection, just missing me and drove westbound on the eastbound lanes. Then a motor cycle patrol joined.
