Contra Costa County Superintendent of Schools Lynn Mackey was selected to receive the Rollie Mullen Leadership Award by STAND! For Families Free of Violence, an honor that recognizes individuals or groups committed to ending domestic violence.

Superintendent Mackey was chosen for “her unwavering dedication and impactful contributions to the STAND! mission to repair the lives of those affected by domestic violence, especially children in emergency shelters and transitional housing programs.”

“I am deeply honored to be selected as the recipient of the Rollie Mullen Leadership Award,” Mackey said. “This recognition is a testament to the collaborative efforts and unwavering commitment of the Contra Costa Office of Education and STAND! For Families Free From Violence to break the multi-generational cycle of violence, promote safe and strong relationships, and rebuild lives. Thank you for this incredible honor and for the opportunity to make a lasting impact.”

STAND! CEO Rhonda James said Mackey’s forward-thinking approach and steady support have been instrumental in providing much-needed funding for summer activities and establishing an on-site learning environment for children during the global pandemic.

So, Mackey helped and supported STAND and helped with fundraising.

What families were helped and how were they helped?

What have STAND and Mackey accomplished?
I’m not saying they haven’t done great things, I just have not heard about anything that’s been done.

Right on.
