There is no saving with DST.
As we use it, time is an artificial measurement of the earth’s rotation using base 12.
Artificial adjustments do nothing, the earth still rotates at the same speed.
Our Star goes out of site as the earth rotates, at the same time it always has.

I guess we’re saps. But we have to be because we have to work due to Biden-Harris economics! Personally, we’ve felt everything go up50% in the last 4 years!!!

I care nothing for the equinox – for me, autumn begins when we set the clocks back!

@Ancient Mariner
For me, it’s the day after Labor Day.

If quantum theory is correct, everything is happening all at the same time and there is no future and no past. Attempting to manipulate time is futile…it does not exist. On the upside, we all get to sleep in an extra hour. Because it has been decreed. By whom? Worth thinking about…

The time changes suck for those of us with dogs that have time sensitive medications. Mine is on seizure meds and switching that plus her feeding times due to work is a pain in the ass. Of course I forgot about it until yesterday and had to get aggressive with the timing of her meds, which I don’t like to do.

@ Anon ~
Yes, my sister had a cat with time sensitive medication too.
I asked her if she gave the meds 10 minutes earlier or later each day for a week, if it would work, to adjust to time change. She shared this idea/info with her cat’s Vet, and it was fine. Hope this can work for you.

…. and voters in Calif wanted to stop time changes – Newscum and his cronies said no …. guess the residents / public really have no say ……

Congress has to approve these because such changes create havoc for transportation and other sectors. Things many people on Claycord.com want DST year around regardless if the kids go to school in the dark. I advocate dropping time zones entirely and using UTC (Coordinated Universal Time — guess they rejected using a CUT acronym). We are a global community where many of us communicate regularly with folks around the world so time zones are archaic. Your computer and phone is running on UTC and converts it to local time. And hey there would be a temporary market in dual clocks, one UTC and the other local until people get used to UTC. But then we tried something similar with metrics.

Congress has to approve permanent DST, but a state can keep standard time without
Congressional approval. Hawaii and Arizona do not participate in DST.
The Navajo nations in New Mexico, Utah, and Arizona are on permanent DST.

“The voters” wanted to keep DST. Locations in the tropics don’t do DST because the sun doesn’t change that much over the year.

It’s weird that with almost universal disdain for changing the clocks twice a year,
that we still do it.
We can’t even get the low hanging fruit. 🍎 🤷
