The following is from the California Highway Patrol:

ORGANIZED RETAIL CRIME TASK FORCE OPERATION IN WALNUT CREEK LEADS TO MULTIPLE ARRESTS

Retail establishments in Walnut Creek have seen a notable increase in incidents of organized retail crime, prompting a response from law enforcement. On October 11, 2024, the California Highway Patrol’s Golden Gate Division Organized Retail Crime Task Force (ORCTF) teamed up with the Walnut Creek Police Department (WCPD), the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office, and agents from the California Department of Justice (CADOJ) to carry out a surveillance and arrest operation at multiple stores in Walnut Creek. This joint operation was part of a collaborative effort to address the growing threat posed by organized retail theft.

This collaboration yielded substantial results. Six individuals were arrested during the operation, and officers recovered 43 stolen items valued at $4,013.14. The WCPD also identified and arrested two known suspects believed to be responsible for thefts at other retail locations across the Bay Area.

This operations success underscores the importance of close collaboration between law enforcement agencies and retail industry personnel. The joint effort between the ORCTF, WCPD, CCDA, and CADOJ, along with the cooperation of retail personnel, highlights a collective determination to curb the rise of organized retail crime. As retail crime continues to threaten local businesses, such coordinated responses are crucial in protecting local communities and holding offenders accountable.

@whenwilltheylearn: For your edification: Plea bargaining is a common practice in all 50 states. Including conservative states.

For Concord Guy’s edification, in this state, with its Soros-controlled District Attorneys, there is no plea bargaining, just a get-out-of-jail-free card for the right people.

If there is no threat of incarceration,
there is no deterrence to criminal behavior
