This year it has been like whack-a-mole with our city council. First the horrible rental control ordinance – including single family homes – sponsored by Councilmembers Edi Birsan, Laura Nakamura, and Dominic Aliano. Then the council supports an extremely aggressive re-zoning plan which until just recently included many valuable retail, recreational, medical businesses along with some churches and private schools. After much public outcry, the rezoning plan has been scaled back, but still includes rezoning some local businesses to high density residential. Yes the state is mandating rezoning, but we have the available empty/unused lots. Why bulldoze any local businesses?

I do support one incumbent in this election: Carlyn Obringer. Carlyn and Laura Hoffmeister have been sensible on most issues.

in district 4 I am supporting Myles Burks rather than Edi this time, mostly due to Edi’s sponsorship of the horrible rental control ordinance. Myles opposes the ordinance, and has the smarts to develop into a good contributor on the council. The other candidate, Pablo Benavente, will follow Edi’s lead on rent control – two peas in a pod as far as I can tell.

Vote for Kamala lHarris, Vote for Adam Shiff,
IF you are better off now than you were four years ago. If your neighborhood is safer now then it was 4 years ago, and if the world is more peaceful than it was 4 years ago.
If you answered no to any of these you must not vote for them unless you want more of the same and things to get worse!. Yes, things were better under Trump. whether you like his personality or not.
