The Contra Costa County Office of Racial Equity and Social Justice (ORESJ) is announcing a funding opportunity to increase and expand safety, health, and well-being in African American communities in Contra Costa County.
ORESJ is seeking proposal submissions from local non-profit organizations that are providing critical services that increase and expand wellness, safety, and healing to people in local African American communities. The County will be awarding up to $880,000 in one-time grants to community-based service organizations to augment and expand existing services or programs by increasing capacity (e.g. serving more participants, hosting additional events, extending program periods). Ideal applicants are those that are: embedded in, led by, and have a history of serving African American communities; bring an innovative, culturally relevant service delivery approach; center equity in their programs and practices; and fill significant service gaps in the County’s most impacted African American communities.
The priority service/program categories to be funded are:
- Behavioral health supports
- Food and/or housing insecurity services
- Maternal and infant health services
- Youth development support services
- Community healing supports, particularly from trauma due to police violence
Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31 and must be submitted to admin@oresj.cccounty.us.
For complete detailed information about this opportunity and how to apply, see the Request for Proposals (RFP) by visiting: Racial Equity and Social Justice | Contra Costa County, CA Official Website
It’s not racial equity unless it’s offered to ALL races.
Bingo! 100% racism
Why don’t you fix the roads or lock up criminals instead of wasting taxpayer money on these swindlers?
I just puked when I read this topic.
LOL
Wow … this is some funny stuff. I guess Racial Equity and Social Justice is only for the Aftrican community. Whites, Asians, Indians or any other race need not apply. But don’t worry, this is not racism .. it is equity …
If we truey followed the definition of the word ‘equity’, we would treat all races the same, but nope, not in our county, we single out the African America and say you are not able to succeed, so we will create an office and a bill just for you … cause you can’t do it on your own.
Where is the money coming from?
you & I in taxes 🙁
I’m sure that was a rhetorical question.
I smell a racial discrimination lawsuit approaching.
Why not opened to everyone? … don’t we get a say in how our tax $$ are spent? hmmmm .. remember the “taxation without representation” phrase ?
DOMO,
.
We get that say every time we vote. I warned Claycord readers not to vote for Ken Carlson for Contra Costa County Supervisor, District 4 back in 2022.
These assholes obviously do not know the definition of racism.
BUCK,
.
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors have absolutely NO interest in “RACIAL EQUALITY, this is part of their “RACIAL EQUITY” program, to pay for the racial discrimination sins of the past.
Yet we have homeless veterans who served our country out on the streets with no such aid.
The chance to boot out these racists is coming up soon.
Vote out the democrats. Each and every one of them. There is no excuse for the good citizens of this county and state to sit on their duff and let this happen. Vote them out!!
AD
What a joke!
We already have 10% of the population taking 75+% of the welfare… So… what is the County doing for the Elderly and infirm who are not able to go out and rob and loot the stores right out of business? HUH??? That’s a direct question for Senator La-somethingorother~~head of DEI.
That ought to pay for one good visit for all of them at Golden Coral on seafoofd night .
What a total Crock of Sh*T!!!
Vote out all of these lousy Dems!
what a bunch of s—
Maybe it’s just me, but it seems that all of these could be helped by a two parent household.
Holistically offering holistic wellness for the holistic.
