Nanking Bistro, located at 150 Hartz Ave. in Danville, was temporarily closed earlier this month due to several violations.

The inspector from the Contra Costa County Environmental Health Department said they found the following:

  • Approximately 50 droppings underneath prep cooler
  • 2 dead rodents on glue trap near stove
  • 1 dead rodent on side of stove

The restaurant has since been reinspected and reopened.

Authentic Chinese food requires authentic preparation. This is the case at nearly every restaurant, even whichever one is your favorite. There’s also a creek in the back and local construction. Rodents and restaurants are a losing battle. Notice NO cockroaches….which means they’re at least doing something right. The best kind of rat is a dead rat.
