Concord Police arrested one driver on suspicion of DUI while conducting a DUI enforcement patrol on Monday.
Drivers charged with DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as
a suspended license.
Concord Police Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications or over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving.
Always follow directions for use and read warning labels about driving or operating heavy machinery, which includes driving a car. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.
Concord Police Department will be holding a series of DUI enforcement patrols throughout the year to keep our roadways safe.
Funding for this DUI Patrol was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic
Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
They act like it’s a BIG DEAL! Hey look….we are doing something.

just flew by a highway patrol bike cop parked on the freeway looking at his Iphone, looked like he was zooming up on the carpool lane to see occupancy. Had my radar detector on and nothing but he was looking at traffic. They need better tools than that, looked stupid
How much did this cost the taxpayers? How many cops were required to cover that workload?
Lucky for the cops the young man who drove onto my lawn last fall pass out drunk next to his truck. The police came after they were called and busted another DUI.
