An early morning three-alarm fire was extinguished in Pittsburg today.

Thanks to @ThatCameraMan707 for the video and the summary (below).

On 8-18-2024 at approximately 2:58am calls came in for a structure fire with residents jumping from windows at 219 W Buchanan Road located in Pittsburg Ca. Upon arrival of fire crews, heavy flames were seen coming from the building and was quickly upgraded to a 2nd and 3rd alarm. Evacuations were executed as well for the entire residents in that building. Fire crews were able to get a handle on the fire. Everyone was able to get out safely and there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire was determined to be two pots of oil that were left on the stove.

People were very lucky there. Apparently all of the residents were able bodied enough to wake up and get out in time.

It’s a reminder to check your smoke detectors. I did not listen to the entire video but in the segments I did listen to I don’t recall hearing a single mention someone was alerted by a smoke or fire alarm.

seemed strange to me that the woman that started it was so willing to say she did it on national tv? seems like something to keep to yourself.
