The following is from the Brentwood Police Department:

Early this morning around 1AM, Brentwood officers were dispatched to 50 Sand Creek Road following a report of an armed robbery. When officers arrived on scene, they were informed by the victim that he had just been robbed at gunpoint and the suspects fled in a black sedan.

While officers were interviewing the victim, Oakley PD spotted the suspects’ car in their jurisdiction and attempted a traffic stop. The driver, however, fled at a high rate of speed, leading to a pursuit. The suspect car subsequently crashed into an embankment off Highway 160.

Brentwood officers arrived at the crash scene and confirmed the vehicle matched the description of the suspects’ car. The two occupants were detained, and officers found a loaded handgun and the property stolen from the victim in the vehicle. The suspect, 28-year-old Orey Douglas of Antioch, was positively identified and placed under arrest.

Douglas was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility for booking.

This quick and coordinated response not only led to the arrest of the suspect but also likely prevented further crimes. We are grateful for the vigilance and collaboration between multiple law enforcement agencies, which continue to keep our community safe.

Member of the no belt club ? ? ?
But that’s OK, let the charge dropping and plea bargaining commence.
.
If there is no threat of substantial incarceration,
there is no deterrence to criminal behavior

No belt? He could also be charged with vagrancy (no visible means of support).

Good job LE! ….. now Becton do yours and stop the revolving door!

Will the CoCoCounty DA prosecute and incarcerate? More likely a quick plea bargain and release. I hate to be so negative but this seems to be the reality these days.

Props to the original victim and then police for putting out a quick and accurate description of a “black sedan” and for law enforcement spotting the very same suspect vehicle in another city and doing the stop and arrest.

The percentage of people that get arrested that wear a tan jumpsuits versus the population of people that wear other types of jumpsuits….

Love how these dirt bags run from police and end up in a accident. Guess when your stupid, you like to prove it to everyone.

One good piece of news . What is the enhancement for using a gun in a robbery?
