⚠️ Construction Alert ⚠️
Concord’s Treat Blvd Pavement Rehabilitation Project is expected to begin on Wednesday, July 31.
The project will rehabilitate the existing pavement from San Miguel Road to Clayton Road, continuing the successful Phase 1 project that paved Treat last year from Walnut Creek to San Miguel Road. The project will also construct ADA-compliant curb ramps at various intersections, repair any base failures in the roadway, install new striping, pavement markings, and the project will beautify the roadway median between San Miguel Road to Cowell Road with new trees, shrubs, rose-colored concrete, and irrigation.
The project is anticipated to be fully complete by January 2025.
Commuters will love this..
Will this involve the median eucalyptus trees which are actively uprooting the road on the eastbound side near 76 gas station?
Exactly! I always use the right lane coming up from San Miguel before moving left to turn on Cowell. I’ve driven better backcountry roads in Utah than that stretch.
They did the first phase during commute/school hours which was awful . Why wouldn’t they start this during summer ? There are 6-7 schools off treat plus commuters . We drive to Bancroft elementary from North concord and treat is the fastest way and it still takes us 25 mins at 7am. Can’t imagine what it will be now
It is summer. Be glad it’s being done. They did a great job on the first phase.
Actually, school starts in 11 days and this will cause major commute issues. This project should have started the day after the last day of school this year.
Well summer is over for the kids August 8th. I will assume it will not be done in a 8 days lol therefore back to my point ; should have started it in the BEGINNING of summer
That would have required some advanced thinking as well as caring about now they could reduce the impact..
Wish WC would follow Concord’s lead on YVR
It’s going to take 6 months? Fantastic.
Whiners are never happy. All year they complain about fixing our streets, then when the work begins, they complain about the time of year. Has it ever occurred to them that the city has a set schedule because other streets are in the process of being repaired?
Learn how to think outside the box, and kwitchurbellakin,
Concord’s new Public Works Director and City Engineer is making great progress in prioritizing these paving projects.
.
Kudos to Mr. Thompson!
.
Will this be for real road repairs?
Or, will it be the pretty much usual just thick black paint slathered over the road resurfacing that usually occurs? And only lasts for a few months?
The shock absorbers on my car need a little rehabilitation thanks to Bay area roads.
About freakin’ time
