For the third time since 2021, the Concord Fireworks show has started a nearby vegetation fire.

KRON4 was on scene, and has video (above).

How come MDUSD landscape department doesn’t do preventative maintenance on the site? It’s not as it was a surprise that the Fourth of July event was coming.

As I was driving down Laurel yesterday afternoon I couldn’t help but notice all the dry weeds and their height, mostly on the road by all the mailboxes. Does anyone know who is responsible to maintain these area’s? This year it just seems to be real bad. Thank goodness the jerks that lit off the “fireworks” and “morters” didnt catch anything on fire…

No. A fireworks show is not a core government function.

Life is better with small government, an effective law enforcement, and sound economic policy.
