Be ready for no gardener or for your bill to double to cover buying all new equipment and for the gardeners asking to plug in at your house everytime they are there. This will literally make them want to go home.

All of my comments directed at people plight over electric subservience are meant for the fools that cant think or work, they just follow. It will never effect me,and they can cite me all day long, eventually they will get hurt to the pint of needing rescue, if they try it on me and it will be in the news what i do next

Im sure the DIY’ers will just stop using gas…sure.

Let me guess, the government will exempt from this because of the number of parks and size of parks. A little people will have to comply

They will need billions of $$ for elec ride on mowers that die after 1 hour

40v electric blowers work great. My inexpensive 40v Ryobi has more power than I need and two 4ah batteries will do a big property after a month of neglect. Total outlay with sale prices was less than 200 bucks.

Its really not a big deal. The gas blowers produce a much bigger racket and the fumes from those 2 stroke motors are dangerous for anyone nearby, especially the operator.

these people work 8-10 hour days

Propaganda
https://youtu.be/lfYzSRxA-ZQ?t=65
Video claims gas leaf blower produces a noise level 100+ dB at one mile.
Would be interested to see that dB reading reproduced at a one mile distance.
.
220 MPH 1110 CFM 79.9 cc Gas 2-Stroke Backpack Leaf Blower, noise rating (dB) 80
Corded electric leaf blower 140 MPH 725 CFM 12 Amp, noise rating (dB) 70.1
Kinda reminds one of being saved from plastic straws in paper wrappers.

@OG – I watched the propaganda video. My takeaway is that the citizens of Orinda are setting themselves up to have the entire town, including all structures, burned to the ground. The fuel load and lack of defensible space visible in the background of the people who were talking is stunning. That is why insurance companies are now refusing to allow Lamorinda homeowners to renew their insurance.

There is NO way the gas blowers get to 100 dB at 1 mile. Typical of Orinda.
I hope they enjoy their leaves! Maybe they should tear out hwy 24-it’s noisy
all the time.

Liberals is CORNY

Ridiculous – electric leaf blowers are just as loud as gas and will take longer to do the job = ask me how I know ….. I hope the gardeners / landscapers pass the cost on to the voters that wanted them … and the additional batteries they have to buy and the rechargers

Poor people of Lafayette.

They can lose weight raking and sweeping and save their health

They can sweat just complaining about gas blowers ,or even moving in any way

Any cop thinking of enforcing this should just fire themselves.

C’mon Walnut Creek…. Be Green, don’t pretend to be. At least ban in neighborhoods where children play.
All leafblowing fools do is blow them in the bushes and down the sewers. spew dirt and debris and hurt tiny animals and the landscapers lungs and hearing..

@Aunt Barbara – they aren’t banning leaf blowers, just gas ones. So the dirt and debris will still flow, tiny animals will still be hurt and the landscapers lungs and hearing will still be impacted.

When gas blowers are banned in Baypoint Barbara will be set free.

Well thank goodness they still have gas powered weed eaters, lawn mowers, chainsaws & chipper shredders.

Aunt Barabara

Do you realize that not every one is able to do their own yard work? On my block, we have a 93 year old young lady who considers it a good day when she can walk to the end of the block and back. She can not do her own yard work. It is not lazy, it is physically impossible for her to maintain her roses.

To make things worse many of the yards around here have milk thistle, sow thistle and wild oat infestation. Hard to get rid of many of those, particularly the wild oat which Bayer/Monsanto published an article that that weed has becoming impervious to herbicides. I call them “zombie weeds”. They are pretty much of the result of the city park around the corner which was overgrown with these last year and only got cut down until late spring or early June. They usually cut these down around February or March which is what they did this year (probably after a lot of complaints about the late removal last year).

Hasn’t anyone ever heard of a broom? Ban all electric blowers as well. Let’s get back to the basics. Oh and a scythe to cut grass. Now that we have saved Lafayette, If only the rest of the world would follow we could save the planet. Need to get a reading on DB of a broom from a mile away first.

Makes me want to drive around with a leaf blower running in the back of my truck just to be obnoxious.
and once again do not click save my name on the comment. I am looking at “Trolling the Chuckie’s” e-mail????????? “stop it”

Normally I’m against big government nonsense regulation but gas leaf blowers are almost as loud as a jet engine.

When I first moved here 30 years ago they were used sparingly.

Today they get fired up most days of the week.

The environmental reasons are nonsense but as a noise disturbance these things are worse than living next to a garage band or an airport.
