City Of Concord Opening Cooling Center Due To Heat

The City of Concord will open the Concord Senior Center as a cooling center, where air conditioning and comfortable seating will be available, Tuesday through Saturday.

The center, at 2727 Parkside Circle, will open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
It will open from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.. Thursday and Saturday.

The city said visitors should bring their own snacks, water, and activities.

Pets are permitted if they’re on-leash and not aggressive or loud. Owners are responsible for feeding, watering, and taking their pet outside to relieve itself and cleaning up after them.

Other places to cool down in Concord include The Meadow Homes Spray Park at 1351 Detroit Ave., which is open daily from noon to 6 p.m. through the summer.

Concord Community Pool, at 3501 Cowell Rd., is open for recreational swimming from 1-4 p.m. on weekdays, and 12:30-5 p.m. on weekends.
