His signed promise to appear? That’s hilarious. It seems that they know where to find him.

What a joke …. and the jokes on us for letting this go on at our expense…. this is what we get for letting the lenient incumbents stay in position

I saw him shuffling past Five Guys on Friday.

I know it is difficult to do, but after so many arrests can’t he be retained and committed to an institution?

Thought this guy was on probation ? ?
Is CoCo Adult Probation too busy ? ? ?
Prediction, and I hope this does NOT happen, cycle of catch-N-release will continue until a high level of violence crime occurs resulting in incarceration by our BROKEN California “system”.
Way things are now a person has to work really hard to catch a FELONY case.
.
When personal drug use became a misdemeanor (Prop 47) an extremely successful tool was taken away from Judges. Ability to impose a harsh Felony sentence which would be immediately stayed, provided defendant got clean-n-sober, stayed that way, maintained steady employment and committed no new crimes. Defendant was placed on 3 – 5 years of probation with VERY CLEAR understanding if terms of probation were not adhered to, original Felony sentence would immediately be imposed.
Have watched that proven method work more times than I can count over the years as people were forced to hit bottom, get clean-n-sober and stay that way.
.
My understanding is ‘ California Drug and Theft Crime Penalties and Treatment-Mandated Felonies Initiative’ on November ballot may correct this.
“New court process for certain drug offenses: Establish treatment-mandated felonies”

Let the police K9 administer some well needed rehabilitation on this bum.

Such a joke. The cops should just meet him weekly for coffee and doughnuts. It would be the same effect as an arrest.

Back when I was a kid the cops would grab a bum and beat the crap outa him…. then they’d drive him way outside of town and drop him by the side of the road & tell him if he came back they’d kill him and bury him where nobody would ever find him…. end of problem.
The wusification of America continues.

This is what we need, more guys like Judge Smails!
