Forward progress has been halted on 50-acre fire burning in Pittsburg Sunday evening, according to the Contra Costa Fire Protection District at 6:30 p.m. The fire was 40% contained at 6 p.m., according to Con Fire. Just before 5 p.m., Con Fire reported being at the scene of a building on fire at 2225 John Henry Johnson Pkwy. The flames had extended to a grassy area and a vegetation fire response was launched. At 5:30, a second alarm was issued to assist with structure protection, Con Fire said.

Thanks so much to @thatcameraman707 for the photo from the scene. Click on the image above to view the great video.

The building on fire was the warehouse where Pittsburg Theater Company stored all of their sets, props and costumes as well as where they built their sets so equipment, tools, and irreplaceable memorabilia all went up in flames. It was completely destroyed. They have a show opening this week and thank goodness most of the show’s things had been moved to the California Theater that morning. The furniture did not. The show must go on so one way you can help is to attend The Sunshine Boys. Another is through a fundraiser set up.

Dose anyone know if the building that had all the theatrical props, and the building that had the drone club stuff in it were damaged?

Read the above comment I made. I don’t know about the drone place but the fire went the other direction from the warehouse so it’s likely that they saved that.

Thank you Vikke for the info.
