Student, Alumni Pro-Palestinian Protesters Barricade Themselves In Stanford University President’s Office

A student barricade began early Wednesday morning at Stanford University president Richard Saller’s office over the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza, university officials said.

In a statement, the university said protesters “unlawfully” entered Building 10, which houses the offices of Saller and provost Jenny Martinez.

“The Stanford Department of Public Safety has responded to the scene and is assessing the situation. Other campus operations have not been affected at this time,” the university said.

According to the group Stanford for Palestine, university students and alumni locked themselves inside Saller’s office around 5:30 a.m. to protest Stanford’s response to pro-Palestinian protesters’ demands over the Gaza conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The protesters said they refuse to leave Saller’s office until the Stanford administration and the Stanford Board of Trustees take action to address “their role in enabling and profiting from the ongoing genocide in Gaza.”

Stanford for Palestine said the university has refused to negotiate with the pro-Palestine advocates over Gaza concerns. The protesters have accused Stanford University of “holding multi-million dollar investments in corporations that provide material and logistical support to Israel’s current military” in the armed conflict.

Expel the students immediately for committing a felony and arrest the all participants. This
is not a 1st amendment issue.

Protest will look good on their resume . . . . . .
CLM Career Limiting Move.
.
“‘The pro-Palestinian employees – who were seen wearing traditional Arab headscarves- were taken in by officials from both the organization’s New York City and California offices.

Soon after an internal investigation, Google vice president of global security Chris Rackow announced the termination of 28 employees in a companywide memo.

The memo reportedly read: ‘They took over office spaces, defaced our property, and physically impeded the work of other Googlers.

‘Their behavior was unacceptable, extremely disruptive and made co-workers feel threatened.

‘Behavior like this has no place in our workplace and we will not tolerate it.

‘It clearly violates multiple policies that all employees must adhere to – including our code of conduct and policy on harassment, discrimination, retaliation, standards of conduct, and workplace concerns’.”

Information aggregators will file names associated with protest for future sale to potential employers.
Impulsive move by impressionable youth, not thinking things all the way thru.
Then again, they’re already qualified to be a DEM politician in our state legislature.

Are we sure this just wasn’t a tour that had a few overexcited participants?

Yep, very sure since they weren’t ushered into the building by law enforcement, ushered around the interior by law enforcement, and then they refused to leave.

The sad thing is that many of these clowns wouldn’t be able to find Palestine on a map.

Rich Saller should tell the stanford administration…” just find me another office, these protesters can lock themselves in there as looooooong as they like”…and then everyone simply walk away…..the strategy seems to be, engaging with these “fraudulent agitators”, and creating a media free for all….why not consider some approach to disarm them ….the response their given is exactly what their after.

They really believe this will make a difference? Do something constructive, New generation of stupid.

Why no protest about freeing the hostage?

Second gen Stanford alumni here. Also a Jew. I am ashamed of what that school has become. These people are truly brainwashed and easily led by social media and other so-called “influencers.”

sorry my friend but these places have turned into nothing but A$$#ole factories pumping loads and loads of brainwashed traumatized children. Been here done this “old now” but the world of higher education has changed.

Those arrested should be required to watch 30 minutes of the Hamas-generated videos from October 7. They should not be allowed to close their eyes. And the sound should be turned up. Perhaps then they can begin to understand why Israel is doing their best to eradicate Hamas.

If the Palestinian people won’t do anything to eradicate the sewer rats living among them also known as Hamas, someone else will have to.

CONCORD GUY,
.
The legality of your suggestions is questionable and wouldn’t make a bit of difference. The vast majority of Palestinians and these protesters believe the Israelis are terrorists. Each time Israel bombs the Gaza Strip to go after Hamas and/or the West Bank to go after Hezbollah, the Palestinian people and these protesters take Israeli actions as terrorist attacks. As long as both sides look at the actions of the other as terrorist attacks then nothing will change.

Considering their school, this will likely fast track them to graduating with honors.
However I recommend an internship in Gaza first.

And how is barricading in the president’s office at a college going to solve anything? It’s not like the president at Stanford University has control over the war. When protestors act like this, especially those who block freeways, you definitely DON’T have my support.

Lock them in there – cut off power, water, no food in – nobody out unless into a paddy wagon to be cited for felony trespassing, and expelled from school with no refunds…. but we don’t have the guts to do anything like that anymore

What if they got to pee or poop? if there are no restroom facilities, oh well………….I just posted about that. Lock them in. they want to be locked in anyway.

Has anyone ever heard of TEAR GAS???
Or would hurt their widdle feewings?

and these are the high IQers……college is a scam

So, the protestors have locked themselves in the President’s office. Good they want to be locked up in there, then lock them in. What are they going to do if they get hungry our need to pee or poop. Is there a restroom inside the office? Maybe. But if not, then they will have to deal with it.

Arrest them all then put non students in jail for trespassing as a minimum starting list. Suspend real students for a certain amount of time. Those that are suppose to graduate can have their diploma mailed to them – if they have earned one already.

How’s this for a idea….as soon as they locked “themselves” up, the campus police put their own locks on, and paste a sign on the office window that reads……”Now you can’t leave”…they wouldn’t do that no way…but would love to see the looks on their faces if they did.

College students are dumb.
They should have taken over and barricaded themselves in a 7-11.
Food & drink at the ready…. beer & hotdogs, chips!

How many of these liberals condemned the January 6 sit in at the Whitehouse? No different in what they are doing. Just geography. Liberals are such hypocrites.
