A 29-year-old man was arrested for allegedly trying to break into the pro shop at a golf course near Buchanan Field Airport in Concord late last week, a Contra Costa County sheriff’s spokesperson said.
Brentwood resident Justin Keller was arrested after deputies responded shortly before 4 a.m. last Friday to an alarm set off at the Skylinks at Buchanan Fields golf course, located at 1091 Concord Ave. and adjacent to the airport and Interstate Highway 680, sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said.
The deputies arrived to find the front gate broken at the golf course and glass that was damaged at its pro shop. Surveillance footage shared by the golf course on social media showed a suspect trying to smash the windows with some sort of tool before fleeing in a vehicle.
Investigators identified Keller as the suspect and arrested him later Friday morning, Lee said. He was booked into county jail on suspicion of burglary, vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.
Keller, who also had several outstanding warrants for his arrest, is being held in custody in lieu of $370,000 bail, according to Lee.

Props to the Contra Costa County sheriffs office and their deputies for their response, investigation, and arrest. I learned that the airport and golf course are on county land. Concord Ave is the border between county and city of concord in that area. The eastern edge of the airport is also a border between county land and Concord with the creek being on Concord’s side of the border.
