It’s not pretty, but soon it’ll be gone.
We’re hearing the aftermath of the building fire on Clayton Rd. at Sunset in Concord should be cleaned up soon (hopefully sooner than later).
QUESTION: What would you like to see replace the building, and what do you think will actually replace the building?
That small parcel of land would be better served as a small park or open space. Traffic on all sides moves fast, making it unsafe for both pedestrians and cars entering and exiting. The history of the place, as a restaurant many years ago, suggests it would do better as a non business.
As much as we need more green space, that patch would be covered in tents within hours.
I am more interested in what the official findings about the cause of the fire were. I see that someone has spray painted “Nice insur job” on the remainders of the outside walls.
City will approve 6 – 14 story apartment building.
Have to keep that transit village fantasy going . . . . . . . .
how about yet another hair salon/nail salon/mexican food restaurant
RESI I DENT,
.
That would be a waste of space, a multi-story building is going in on this location no matter what the residents of Concord want for this location.
My office overlooked that mess of a building for 15+ years. I don’t know what can be done with the lot given its small and oddly shaped footprint, as well as speeding cars on all three sides of the lot. And the intersection is dangerous too. I can’t count how many times I heard screeching tiers and car collision impacts. My guess is that ten years from now it will be a vacant lot. Maybe the City of Concord will build a picket fence around the perimeter…
CONCORD GUY,
.
The City of Concord only puts white picket fences around vacant lots that the city owns.
Turn it into a park to make up for the Skyler Court park (Clayton Valley Center Park) that the city stole from the citizens of Concord. Or build a multi-level parking garage to use as overflow parking for the recently built multi-family housing buildings.
Spirit Poles.
Space X launch pad
Who owns the property?
If it’s not you, then you don’t get to decide what goes there.
Since you obviously weren’t paying attention, I’ll repeat the question:
QUESTION: What would you like to see replace the building, and what do you think will actually replace the building?
OLIVE GARDEN-
There I said it …..
Additional parking would probably make the most sense.
Something like the space needle. 600 feet tall with a classy restaurant and an observation deck with a snack bar.
A Bay Area attraction!
It would be a good spot for a cannabis club.
Corn Snake Sanctuary
Affordable housing
I’d like to see a park. If it’s left up to our city council it will be a 97 story apartment building with no parking.
I really can’t wait for another construction zone that takes up multiple lanes for years at a time. I’ve never lived anywhere that gives public lanes up for as long as they do in Concord. It’s like the people in the streets department are asleep. Every change they make traffic gets worse. I can’t tell you how often I sit at traffic lights in concord where I’m the only one and the light stays red forever! It’s all a joke!
