DR JELLYFINGER, I initially had that reaction too, but became intrigued.

10 is ENOUGH!

Displays the lack of imagine of the studio execs. Most top execs at the studios are terrified of trying anything new and innovative. But rehashes are starting not to work either. John Cleese says it right in regard to studio execs, “they don’t know what they’re doing”. 😄

imagination not imagine of course. Need AI to catch those mistakes. 🤓

Happy memorial day thank you that all have served and especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice of their lives for the beauty of our country.

On the separate note, what has happened to all of the swallows? 20 years ago when I moved in all these flying insect eradicators would build their nest on my home as I watched from my barbecue island at sunset them come out and do their duties of eating bugs. Since then, there seems to be an ebb and flow of their migration patterns through the beautiful city of Clayton?? Anyone have any ideas or theories as to the demise of theseHelpful Alvian?

Never forget why you have a three-day weekend.

and how !

No shortage out here in the Delta. There’s a dilapidated old pier about 100 yards from my home where swallows nest every year (cliff swallows and barn swallows) at least 1000 of them underneath it. They always show up in early March. I love ’em.

Saw a notice in the paper that Concord, Clayton, Pleasant Hill, and Walnut Creek get to have a special election on July16th. You all will be asked to willfully vote for a special purpose secured property tax. I think some pieces and parts of the towns will be get left out and won’t be able to for this special tax even if they wanted to.

No book report today.

DOROTHY,
.
Do you have any more information on this special election? I haven’t been able to find anything about it.

It was in the East Bay Times a few days ago in the Legal section.

As well as patterns, sewing machines, other equipment and notions. Come see what treasures you will find. (Sewing machines are in working order.)
Hope to see you there. I will be there as a volunteer.

Pick One:
.
A) Macaroni Salad
B) Potato Salad
C) Yuck

B and A in that order since I like both. I did not like my mother’s potato salad because she put sweet onions in it and way too oniony compared to the supermarket and restaurant varieties. I like potato salad with red potatoes particularly.

Definitely potato salad. Like Marcaroni salad, but potato my favorite. Like several versions, German Style, Classic with eggs, Danish warm potaoto salad, cooked with onions, dressing or sauce made with cream and a little vinegar.

B) At least potato’s have the benefit of being a vegetable. You have your vitamin C, protein, and potassium. If you eat the skin, you even get a healthy dose of fiber. I like to make it with sour cream, and a bit of mayo, then add some fresh dill, and a dash of apple cider vinegar. Chop up some red onions, dill pickles, and celery, and I’m all set.
German potato salad is another good choice, they use bacon grease in place of mayo, and it’s served warm.

Your potato salad recipe sounds similar to mine. Sour Cream, Mayo, dill (dill is used a lot in Scandinavian cooking, growing up we always had fresh dill and parsley) however I omit the celery and pickles, and use yellow onions.

Would have to go with C) Yuck.
Use to like both, then started to like pasta salads. Just do veggie and/or green salads now.
In the last 2 or 3 months I’ve even lost interest in Bacon, Beef, Butter and Chinese Food.
So odd.

Yikes, Roz….that is odd, and hope you’re o.k. Too bad I haven’t lost interest in those items….I’d be thinner.

“A”

@S
B) Potato Salad
I also like macaroni salad, and I would like the Captain’s, Hanne’s, and Dawg’s versions also.

S
like both when home made. Actually last night I made 6 lbs of macaroni salad for an 88th birthday party today.

@Well Folks
Absolutely has to be homemade.

How about the Contra Costa County Fair workers robbed of nearly $90K going to the bank overnight. Sounds fishy.🤔

What are the chances of an armed robber being at the same bank at 2 am waiting for somebody to make a deposit? If I was a betting man, I’d bet it was an inside job.

What’s on the BBQ for the weekend?

being I smoked up a whole bunch of Pastrami last weekend….. a whole bunch….
.
maybe just grill some burgers rather than “Q”ing….

We’re BBQing steaks, burgers and hot dogs for our family and friends.

Hamburgers and corn on the cob. Homemade ice cream for dessert.

@El D
Homemade ice cream sounds wonderful…….I’ve never had any.

My home made potato salad with deviled egg, hamburger relish, celery and smoked paprika!
Nom….
I wish Fritz’s Butcher shop was still around…. those marinated Tri Tips were the BOMB!

Question 1…Do you think all the yellow framing around the traffic signals are really worth the money spent on them?
Question 2…What are all those camera like devices on many of Concord’s traffic signals? License plate readers?

Q#1, …. Yes.
Q#2, …. Think it’s a control box for emergency vehicle, … but check with others on that.

The camera like devices on traffic signals are traffic sensors.

Gas here in Alaska is 3.89 a gallon. Last night Kenai and Concord were both 56 degrees

CArson City NV isn’t to far off…….$3.97 Friday and my favorite Unical station

Noticed for this last week that the skies were blue with no artificial cirrus clouds. Either they took a week off for vacation or the attention of the press to Tennessee’s ban on it as well Alameda demand to stop such maybe led to some “cooling” of it.

$3.89 ?
Well that beats the fudge outa our local Arco. Let’s drive up to Kenai & fill the tank.

If DEMs were voted out of office in California
how much would price of gas and utilities go down ? ? ?
