About 2,200 people are without power this evening in the area of Monument Blvd., Meadow Lane and Detroit Ave. in Concord.
PG&E says the power should be back on by 1 a.m. The outage occurred after a vehicle struck a power pole in the area, according to witnesses on scene.
Thanks to both Leonardo for the newstip and Katie F. for texting us the photo on our new textline, 925-800-NEWS (6397)
Yo pase por ahí cuando pasó me dio mucha tristeza al pensar que le pasó lo peor a la persona que manejaba espero que esté con vida
Guadalupe, my Spanish is rusty, but I think you said you passed by and were sad to see it, and hope that the driver survived. Is that close?
I passed by when it happened I was very sad to think that the worst happened to the person who was driving, I hope he is alive.
I hope they are okay.
Mmm … you can’t see the speed limit sign … looks like a tree branch is covering it up. I’m also surprised people are standing under the power lines when the pole looks like it could fall over.
Most likely the power was shut off or the police would have chased bystanders away.
Can anyone help with translation please, for those of us not living in the monument corridor? Thank you.
I don’t speak Spanish. In the future, you can copy and paste to google.com/translate. This is the result I received:
“I passed by there when it happened it made me very sad to think that the worst happened to the person who was driving I hope he is alive.”
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???
Not everyone speaks Mexican or wants to!
OLD OTIS,
.
GUADALUPE CRUZ likely thought she was posting on the Claycord Spanish language page. She likely only made an error.
Wrong answer it’s 240 am and still no power here on Detroit Ave 😕
Blame Mr Muey Buracho.

My guess is it’s an uninsured, unlicensed driver. Just a guess.
