Costco, nice seeing most parking places empty for less than a minute.
Keeps stock price up and dividends coming in.

I don’t like grocery shopping, but it’s one of life’s necessities, so I have to do it, and if I have to do it, I’d rather do it at WinCo. They have every item on my list, and that means I can do all my shopping at one store and get it over with. There’s nothing I dislike more than shopping at a store that doesn’t carry everything I’m looking for, forcing me to go to another store just for one or two items. I shop once a month, and always buy enough to last until my next venture to the grocery store.

Trader Joes. Better quality and more sophisticated items. Cheaper than Safeway too.

It was Nob Hill in Walnut Creek till they closed. Produce was always fresh and they were one of the best to offer drive up and go or delivery when covid first started. That meant alot to us.

I like Lunardis and Trader Joes, but wish they offered order on line and pick up and go. Its harder to do in store shopping after you get a certain age and are having health issues. A good segment of the population are there or soon will be. Grocery stores need to get ahead of the trend.

I always go to Lucky since it’s the closest to my house.

Fresh and Easy…was so ahead of its time with premade meals, self check out, etc.

It depends on what I’m looking for.
For basic groceries, I like Safeway – the one just north of JC Penney is large, with a good selection.
For meat, fish and some gourmet products, I go to Lunardi’s.
For convenience, I like Whole Foods (handy for my work).

What’s with all the downvotes? They’re just grocery stores with different marketing philosophies. The wine sales at Grocery Outlet are worth the trip!

Costco, if I have 2 hours, 300 dollars, and energy to get a half ton of stuff home. Otherwise it’s usually Safeway or Grocery Outlet. With G.O. you really must pay attention to use-by/expiration dates.

Our Favorite is Lunardi’s every 2 weeks, … but not for all the groceries.

Lupoi’s Market and Nob Hill. Unfortunately they are long gone.
I’m not a fan of warehouse shopping.

There is a Nob Hill in Martinez on Center near highway 4. Very nice store.

Depends on which has a sale on something I need to get. Otherwise Winco for some stuff, Costco for canned and other long lasting or freezer items. But Sam’s Club for hamburger.

One particular Safeway for the mixed fruit and the one section that’s for the layout and it does has what I need. If I had a entire family in my home, there’s only one thing I never would compromise on back then and that was meat.

This store It’s all there. In and out, but it’s worth it. I don’t know when I’ve gone through all isles. I would never go to Safeway for everything. Means more frequent trips, but very healthy and tasty. The way it’s packed, strawberries, berries, rasberries and always costs me less to buy it that way for 3 days. I’ll buy my apples bulk. Eat chicken, tuna fish, salad etc, so. Only go for 3-5 items, but it means I have to go more frequently. If I find bartlett pears just right, then that’s my favorite. I do like Whole Foods too, but pretty expensive like everything. Thank you clueless Biden.

Slow Sam’s. Olympic & Tice Valley Blvd. Saranap.
Now Long gone.

Not a favorite store per se. I like the fresh fruit and meat when on sale at Safeway, Trader Joe’s wines and Kringle’s when they have them (and their Halloween and Christmas treats), and Costco for their chickens. I guess I view grocery stores as a necessary activity that is not a “pleasure.”

Lucky’s. Great employees and it’s clean.

When Diblo Foods was in Concord it was my total go-to favorite.
Knew the whole staff by name and them me.
I used to bake and drop off goodies at the butcher shop for all to share.
Miss those days. Lafayette is a bit too congestive and busy to visit for me.

Food Maxx on Clayton Rd. Yes the check out lines might be long but the prices are better than Safeway or Lucky’s. And at the way the prices have shot up that is important.

CO-OP

Nob Hill is handiest but I also shop Safeway and Lucky’s. Everyone says Nob Hill is too pricey but I get breaks on the coupons and rewards. Walmart and Dollar Tree for some other things.

Winco.

For veggies and fruit, I walk right out to the backyard garden. The flavors don’t even compare to store bought. Get rid of your lawns and plant seeds in your soil. Don’t forget plenty of flowers for the pollinators!
