Concord Police Department officers arrested four drivers while conducting a DUI enforcement patrol on Friday, according to a press release from the department.
The department plans to hold a series of DUI enforcement patrols throughout the year. Funding for this DUI patrol came from a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
DUI charges result in an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, in addition to license suspension.
Police warn that some prescription medications or over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving, not just alcohol, and ask drivers to follow directions for use and read warning labels against driving heavy machinery, which includes cars. Police also reminded residents that driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.

What were they arrested for? Was it for driving under the influence, or something else? It seems to me, they purposely omitted pertinent information.

There probably wasn’t an actual checkpoint. The trend seems to be intensive patrols.

I think it’s important to under stand that Concord police arrested 4 people. They also were conducting. DUI enforcements.tbe DUI enforcements are part of a grant so that the police can do more DUI enforcements. That article says other than stating a DUI can cost $13,500. So thank you for letting us know. It’s odd that DUi enforcement is not a part of normal community policing. Just saying.
