The “Water Cooler” is a feature on Claycord.com where we ask you a question or provide a topic, and you talk about it.
The “Water Cooler” will be up Monday-Friday in the noon hour.
QUESTION: What’s your preferred method of communication? Phone call, text, email, in-person, letter, carrier pigeon, etc.?
Talk about it….
Talking
Only turn on cell phone to make a call
Check email couple times a year
Scream at someone at the top of my lungs, HA-HA!
But for real, face to face talking or phone calls.
Phone call, email, in-person best, letters. Since I have allergies you can keep the pigeon.
Email. I like the asynchronous method of it. This going back 40 years using BBS systems and CompuServe. Email started out as “memos” so it was always quaint as newcomers (and some still do) use formal mail format opening up with “Dear “. I kept looking for my powdered wig.😄
I’m not a fan of texting but good for a quick note but my niece loves it. Thing is she is in her 60s. 🙄
Funny thing these days is voicemail with people say “hello… hello..” obviously too stupid to know what voicemail is. That or they’ve been living under a rock. 🤣
The kids that text all day literally dont know how to talk on the phone, when selling a car i asked for calls,no texts ,in my ad,and when i answered the phone and said “hello” there was a pause and someone sheepishly said”hello?”i couldnt believe it,kids, you dont say” hello” back, this is when you say what you are calling about or who you are calling for… class dismissed.
.
Depends who it is.
.
Generally, text because then they know there is no rush to respond. Telephone if I need a timely response.
.
Well now that all depends on who you are communicating with, right?
Telepathy is pretty awesome! Purify the mind, body and spirit and you will feel it!

English
None
Face to face talking usually but if I need proof of discussion, email
I enjoy good company; in-person
bad company? Any means of indirect short and basic
letter? Huh?
anyone remember the last time you wrote an actual personal letter for fun? not a business correspondence type…
1991: to my grandmother out of state…. She passed a short time later. My parents found it on her nightstand… It had a few coffee stains on it; look well read….
I prefer to be up close and personal. I don’t like yakking on the phone too much, but I will when it’s necessary. Sometimes I’ll send a short e-mail from my computer, but never from the tiny keyboard on my phone, and on special occasions like Christmas and birthdays, I usually send a card.
I have never sent a text in my life. From my experience as a medical professional, I am aware that the constant repetition of texting can lead to inflammation of the thumb flexor, causing tendonitis and pain. If it becomes too severe, the thumb can become trigger locked and unable to bend.
Silence is Golden. So, keeping my big mouth shut works the best.

Biden says he is the only person in his family that went to college today, after saying for years his grandfather went to college on a football scholarship, causing many, even dems to say publicly that he is a pathalogical liar
All of the above, except for the pigeon. It depends on the context or what I’m trying to do. Like Captain Bebops, I also started with CompuServe email, back in 1988 when I bought my first PC. I realize many seniors aren’t tech savvy enough for things like email and texting and that’s the reason they don’t do it. As a senior myself, I’m very comfortable with the technology, but I’m also an aerospace engineer and have been using computers since I learned how to program in FORTRAN at the university.
Sign language….. very few people know whether or not you’re really doing it.
Two soup cans and some string.
CB radio.
I use smoke signals…. when you see the smoke, join me at the bbq…
