A mini pincher/mix. I adopted him 5 years ago from ARF.

You too? Did you read up on them before you adopted him?

1 female cat who I got from the County Animal Shelter
1 male bunny who I got from a rabbit rescue group

Terrier/Chihuahua Mix from ARF. I love my Nyx though his original name was Mr. T.

I have a Savannah cat. The last time I weighed her, she was 23 lbs, and standing on her hind legs, she can reach the kitchen counter top. I’ve had rescue cats before her, but I wanted something a little more exotic, so I started looking at Savannah cats, and found her when she was a kitten at a place in Brentwood. Because she is half Serval, she possesses a lot of her wild instincts, but she is the most affectionate, and loving cat that I’ve ever had. She is extremely vocal, and loves to talk to me, when she wants something, she will meow, and when I ask her how’s she doing, or if she’s hungry, she always answers me with a meow. Next month she will be twelve, and I couldn’t be happier.

@ DAWG ~
Was meaning to ask you a while back where you found her.
Also, do you take her out on walks with a leash?
Our neighbor has a tuxedo cat she leash walks. Darn thing acts like a dog.
If I’m in the front yard working, he drags her over to get attention from me, … 🙂

Roz, I don’t remember the name of the place where I got her, but they were in Brentwood, and are no longer in business. However, there is another breeder in Brentwood that took their place. I take her for walks with a leash attached to a harness, I don’t use a collar because it could choke her. People are always stopping to ask about her, and want to take her picture.

We got a 13 year old sulcata tortoise (65 pounds!) a couple of years ago from a guy in Sacramento selling it on Craigslist for $150. He’s the perfect pet in that he doesn’t smell, bark, attack, slither, or eat expensive food. And he’ll be attending my funeral..

One cat. Which is one cat too many.

1 Pitbull. Got her as a rescue when she was maybe 8 weeks old. She’s a bit over 2yo now.
1 Leopard Gecko. Got it from a friend that got it for her kid. He lost interest. Have had it for 10 years now.
Also have turkeys and chickens.

I have two dogs, a Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund) who I got from the Animal Shelter in Martinez, and a Chihuahua/Jack Russell who came to live with us after his owner died two years ago. He originally came from ARF.

2 rescue dogs. Rescues are the best!!!

We have a large rat that comes to eat the suet out of the bird feeder at night. He climbs the tree, rappels down the cord holding the feeder and sits on top of it, munching away. we have to bring the suet in at night or it’ll all be gone by morning.

We have a beagle and he is the sweetest, most precious barky little guy ever. Love him!!

Two cats, two years old that I got from a couple of girls that had a feral mother, the cats not the girls, one’s midnight black and the other is dark gray. Thanks to DR. JELLYFINGER suggestion for their names…Sam and Dave.

All the dogs & cats that I have had all my life are from shelters or rescues. Three were from the streets.

When we had kids in the house we had dogs, cats, hamsters, rats, fish, and birds. Our first two Boston Terrors were AKG registered, but all of our recent dogs have been foster-fails or rescues from all over the place. But in northern California, our favorite is https://wonderdogrescue.org/ in San Francisco

2 cats; I got one from the county shelter and the other I found on Petfinder; he was part of a cat fostering network.

Two. both rescues..one a young pit bull beagle mix. Likely the greatest animal I have ever had. Great mix bread if you can find one.

I had an Eastern Spotted Banshee. Incredibly loud and mean. And very possessive. Judge said I didn’t have to keep it if I gave up roughly half my stuff. Deal. 🤝 😝

4 year old female Italian Greyhound(8lbs), & 2 year old male Italian Greyhound(19lbs)… I bought the female from a breeder in Arkansas, and bought the male from a breeder in LA. Also a 5 year old German shepard (100lbs) who I found in oakland, wandering the hillside behind my parents house…. and about 16 goldfish in my backyard pond I constructed a couple years ago!

One blind dog 12 year old Shih Tzu from Muttville Senior Dog Rescue.

A 15 year old pittie (Lucy) we got from Rocket Dog Rescue who is still going strong. 2 parakeets (Sprite and Casper) from Petco (I know, don’t buy, rescue) and a 40 year old citron cockatoo (Fred) from Cali_FID Parrot & Exotics Rescue Sanctuary. We’ve had Fred for about a year and he has turned our household upside down with his demands and antics but I love him more than any animal we’ve ever had. Cockatoos are definitely not for everyone. They should not be in captivity.
