If you’ve always dreamed of a robot delivering your food, you’re in luck!
The Cajun Crack’n restaurant in the Willows Shopping Center in Concord has a new robot (we’ll call her Rosey).
Our friend Ken, who sent the video, said “The robot plays music and you can interact with it. Our food got to the table so fast it was still hot and we had to wait for it to cool down. Overall it was a good experience.”
QUESTION: Do you like the new robot, or would you rather have a human delivering your food?
Do you have to tip the robot? Or does it just link back to Cyberdyne Systems? So it can one day take over the world!
So on the bill is there still a spot for a tip? Or is there an extra service charge tacked on?
I would think as the minimum wage continues to increase we’ll start to see more of this. And if Barbara Lee ever got her fever dream to come true- a $50/hour minimum wage, we’d see millions of jobs lost and thousands of businesses shut down.
That robot messed up my order..
Kick it!
Make funny faces at it.
Tell it “Your mama” jokes.
a bit back, Denny’s in Cordelia used one. It brought our food out. The thing was so disgustingly filthy; we said no thank you, paid for our coffee, and left. We were respectful with the manager, who got pissy that other customers were agreeing with us.
How do you explain to a robot it delivered the wrong food?
You have to be fluent in Binary
🙂
The robot isn’t fluent in six million forms of communication? Was that a different robot?
I think it goes like this
101110001110000111
😆
189319?
Is Rosey audio and video recording, if yes, what is being done with the information collected? Is Rosey collecting information that ties the name of a customer, if paying by debit or credit card, with facial, eye, ear, voice, body type, gait, skin tone, and/or other biometric recognition systems, which many Americans have freely given to social media companies?
Does it include a packet of wet wipes so you can clean your hands after touching the filthy touchscreen?
Will be a germ farm, never cleaned
No thanks to this gimmick.
Does the robot get $20 per hour with maintenance health care benefits?
.
Is there a robot union yet?
.
Thank you for the laugh! Since it’s California, it just might get health care benefits and have a union!
No interest. I find most waiters and waitresses (what do we have to call them this month, table servers, food deliverers?) to be very pleasant. They have to deal with some major digested-food-evacuation-portals (myself included) on a day to day basis and still maintain a pleasing smile. I like seeing they have a job and are invariably skilled at small chat and appearing to actually care about what each customer is thinking (something I couldn’t do, I don’t think). I prefer human interaction.
The robot will start renting apartment in the ghetto as “storage” and they will pay on time and the broke people will be on the streets for real with their section 8 or always late
Does it speak spanish, farsi and other languages??If it doesn’t they willl lose half their customers if they didnt already.
That robot is filthy.
I don’t mind new technology, I’m not too fond of filthy things in a restaurant.
They’ve been using them in Asia for years!
There went someones job. And people wonder why the unemployment rates are so high.
I’ll bet the restaurant still has an option to leave a tip!
Remind me to avoid the place.
It appears Governor Newsom mandating minimum wage increases in addition to health care benefits is already showing detrimental results to the fast food industry. Layoffs, staff cuts, stores closures has also already followed. Like always, California leaders never envision the ramifications of their mandates. Many more workers will lose their jobs and more consumers will not purchase the more expensive meals. Thanks yet again Gavin, NOT!
