Pick One: Speaking of Leftovers
.
A) Hash
B) Ruben
C) Yuck
Ruben, extra kraut!
we actually use the corned beef and cabbage on top of a buttery potato,, sometimes cheese. Not the healthiest by any stretch, but that is our preferred method. Cannot say C) but also do not make hash nor a reuben.
How does one pick?
All so good….
Gonna go with…

Hash, eggs, bacon then biscuits-n-gravy and a pot of coffee.
Then my morning nap . . . . . . . .
Long time reader, first time posting here.
Am tired of paying high property taxes to Sacramento (2nd installment due soon 🤬) for causes I really don’t care about and thinking of downsizing to a condo. Does anyone know much about the condo near Ayers & Clayton Rd, or have other suggestions? Not looking to move out of Claycord.
I don’t know anything about that condo complex, but look at the owner to renter ratio, the HOA dues and what they cover, the HOA and if they are actually doing their job. Lastly, get a good read on your closest neighbors. Don’t rely on the seller to tell you about the neighbors.
Best of luck to you!
@CJRN….Be sure to check it and the neighborhood out at night, especially on the weekends, you might be surprised. Notice the cars parked on the street around too.
Thank you!
@ YAHOO ~
CJRN post totally hits the mark.
Yes, how are the neighbors?
HOA can be pricey, $300-$400 a month.
Is it more or less than your property taxes?
You can downsize and invest in a mobile home (senior living) without property taxes.
You wouldn’t have a neighbor connected wall.
But the rent space would be about a $1,000+ a month.
Our property taxes are low since we bought back in 1979.
Sometimes I check out the housing market, …. so far, we are better off here.
I lived on Sierra Gardens about 20 years ago here in concord, nice secluded gated community off of Oak Grove rd. Hoa used to be about $400 which was expensive back then, I believed now is about $480 some like that. You can search on realtor.com or any real state sale website and once you find something you like, usually on the estimated payment you will see the hoa fees for condos. They usually include outside insurance, maintenance and water.
My friend lived on pine creek really nice neighborhood off of the Detroit Ave, it comes in like in a u shape street, so there is really no street traffic other than the people that lived there. Once you begin to look is a done deal, you will find some! Good Luck.

I lived in Pine Creek for 17 years. The management is terrible. One of the issues that was finally resolved after a 4 year battle was the owner/renter ratio.. For VA, FHA loans and fire/property insurance you can not have more than 20% rentals. Well Pine Creek was at 43% for quite a long period. Several section 8 renters were causing major problems. Cops were in frequently arresting some of these of them and the arrest were not always easy and peaceful. The board and management didn’t care until they got a notice of cancellation from the insurance due to the ratio. Lots of investment owners were told move-in or sell. The only thing that saved them was the selling market was hot and the properties sold quickly.
I was in a building of 6 units and one neighbor and myself were the only owner occupants. The other 4 units had to be sold. When I left in 2017 things were better on that front but according to former neighbors I’m in contact with management is still terrible
Get a history of HOA fees – how often and how much
Yahoo
Find out what management company the HOA uses and check them out. There are a couple of goods ones but most are terrible.

Oh Boy !
My Home Energy Report is here….
I used 38% less energy…
Wow ! My PG&E Bill will be 38% lower….
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHaaaaaaaaaaaa
May be because there is one of those “credit” things you once or twice a year on that bill. It is scheduled for next month according to their PR.
Might be having browser problems because I don’t even get the “comment in moderation” prompt when I try to post, but whatever the case with your PGE bill, don’t get burned by the StateWise Energy scammers who are out knocking on doors.
Why do so few people use their turn signals?
because:
in the summer my arm gets sunburnt
in the winter my arm gets wet
🙂
Silly persons are the best persons. 😋
Because they are unconcerned with the effect their behavior has on others. These are the same people who pee on the toilet seat at the airport and double dip at cocktail parties.
@THE FEARLESS SPECTATOR….Worse are the people that double dip at the airport toilets seats and pee in the dip at cocktail parties.
All this time I suspected the hostess was just holding out and not telling me what the secret ingredient was in her super good salsa.
It’s because they are lazy and inconsiderate.
Even the police hardly ever use their turn signals.
Everybody drives like crap except me.
It’s out of Claycord, but prayers are up for the victims of the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse. It is eerily reminiscent of the collapse of the Bay Bridge, in that it will be affecting people’s lives for a very long time.
Ship still has bridge sitting on it and Baltimore bound ships are stacked up.

Not to step on S’s toes on their weekly quizzes but I ran into the grocery store today and thought this might make a good one.
Which do you prefer?…………
A: Ball
B: Kerr
C: WTH?
Oh…. Step away…. This is most excellent.
I usually get what’s on sale / cheapest; or at garage sales & buy replacement lids
I actually had to go look in my Cupboard to see which I have the most of….
“A”
.
ps: this was so good, I may take this Friday off…..
I guess my only option is “C”.
@DR. JELLYFINGER…. Either one works good for your favorite vegetable….okra, brined of course.
Somehow I only have Ball qts. for drinking glasses.
When I was working in the grocery store in the 70s there was a big shortage for a few years of lids and jars. I was the the family hero being able to get all my extended family needed. I still have a few for storing jam and other stuff I make to keep in the fridge.
@nytemuvr
I’ve got a few empty Balls and three Kerrs full of smoked salmon so right now, I choose “B”.
